WELCOMEWe are delighted to introduce To The Moon at The River Club, our immersive autumn/winter terrace installation partnership with Hendrick’s Lunar Gin & Fox Flowers. This exciting collaboration celebrates man’s long fascination with sky travel, the cosmos, and aeronautical endeavours. From the tragic Greek mythological hero Icarus to technicolour kites, hot-air balloons, the birth of airline travel and the awe-inspiring moon landing to humankind’s next quest amongst the stars, our drive to achieve the impossible and discover new horizons continues to grow with time.

Our Terrace seeks to pay homage to the endeavours and accomplishments of our past, through air-faring objects and artefacts from bygone times. This is enhanced by a base of jewel-toned blooms, harking back to the maximalism of the early 20th Century and the genesis of commercial air travel. We now look to the future and the adventures which the stars may hold for us - by partnering with Blackrock Castle Observatory, we garner a greater understanding of our awe-inspiring skies and the cosmos.

SUPPORTING DARK SKIES Blackrock Castle Observatory are working in partnership with Dark Skies Europe, a body that raises awareness of light-pollution and its effect on nocturnal biodi-versity, to bring this worthwhile initiative to wider attention amongst the people of Ireland. Through educational outreach involving young people, and indeed policy makers, BCO and Dark Skies Ireland are working to reduce the impact of light pollution in our cities and counties, and in turn, helping to instruct the nation on the importance of nocturnal biodiversity and pollinators. €1 from each cocktail sold during the To the Moon Terrace will go to this illuminating and worthy cause.
