Curriculum Vitae

INDEX

Deeply convinced of the communicative and symbolic vocation of art, I research in the social contexte triggering participative processes.

Exploring various media (collective actions, photography, video, installations, silk screen printing), I aim to open questions about our way of being in the world: with our body, with other people and

the natural environment around us.

Medley was conceived during the workshop “I Cercatori d’Oro”, where I was invited to create a performance starting from the contexte of the vil-lage of Monterchi. The two facts that led me to this creation were: the observation of the massive departure of young people from the village and the encounter with the 84 years old chansonnier Vittorio Perla. I invited him to work with me and we prepared a singing performance of four well-known italian songs about leaving your own hometown. During the performance I involved the public to sing with me, opening a reflection about this phenomenon in a playful way.

E SE COSTRUISSIMO UN CASA?

Villa Da Ponte, Cadoneghe, Padova, 2017collective action

old shigles found on the site

I disposed the old shingles of the villa (foundstacked on one side of the garden) in a circle and I invited the event participants to try together to build a form from the idea of “home”.

The old foof shingles became a device for collective reflection on the theme of the home. In arranging them thinking about this, some questions emerged: what is home? Where? How is it done?

Total view before the collective action.

“The theme of the home is, in one way or another, touches everyone’s sensitivity. The work of the artist is about the ability to create a meaningful situation from a gimmick, a circumstance that can suspend mistrust and put people together and share experiences. (…). The work, in fact, is a simple and playful engagement mechanism

to reach a shared reflection on the theme of the home. The place where the project took place is the “home” of the association Whydanghi, which members were participants in the final event of X.FORMA a. (...),

Home is a theme that involves everyone - humans, animals and plants - all living. The home as a place to live, safe place and different from the rest, order in chaos, warm nest built around my needs, place of food and love, rest space, to grow and to think, root of journey and return , a dreamy space full of memories, built brick after brick,

empty in full, mud and light, fortified and hospitable, profound and widespread about everything that counts. In short, the home is the place of life, the great mother, the land.”

performance in the pubblic spacevideo 09:08 min

What does happen if you put just a mirror on a selfie-stick and you walk around the city?Selfie_mirror_stick is a performance happened in Bruxelles. It was conceived during a workshop of perfor-mance in the public space led by Eve Bonneau.Starting from the study of the gesture of “taking selfies”, Selfie_mirror_stick is an exploration of urban space and of the new habits linked with digital devices.Does this new costume make people farther or closer between themselves?

ANIMUM LUDENDO COLESGiardino Pacini, Catania, 2016

collective action created with Chiara Colombi and Vincent Matyn in occasion of “Situ-Azioni” residency at BOCS

A4 papers, oil pastels, people participation

Animum Ludendo Coles is a situaction specific collective action conceived activated Giardino Pacini in Catania. We have asked to the random visitors to grab the surfaces of the garden with the technique of frottage and to lay their drawings on the water of the fountain. Through a process really close to a game, we have invited people to explore the spot and to create a new collective image of it.

BUILDING A WELLBruxelles, 2016

collective action activated twice: garden of Maison des Arts de Schaerbeek and

Galerie Ravestein/Parc Royalesoil, clay, seeds, water, people participation

In Building a Well I have invited the visitors to build a well with some bricks handmade by me with soil, clay and containing some seeds. I have proposed each person to write a desire on a side of the brick and to place it to form a well. People were also invited to mold a brick to continue the project. The two sculptures realized out of this collective action are in two public parc exposed to atmospheric agents. The rain is slowly melting them, offering to the viewer the observation of the tension between human and nature labor. Natural processes will bring back the soil of the bricks to the ground deciding whether the seeds will grow or not.
