Plot Squares
WHAT ARE PLOT SQUARES?
Plot squares are a more visual way to display the sequence of events (plot) in a story. All elements of the plot diagram are included. Pictures and images, color, and text will all be used in order to display your understanding for a story.
STUDENT OBJECTIVE: Your objective is to display your
understanding of the elements of the plot diagram through “The Slip Over Sweater” by making plot squares.
You and ONE partner will create this assignment using 16 squares total.
Pictures, labeled squares, complete sentences, and color are all MANDATORY for this assignment.
EACH SQUARE SHOULD..
Be labeled (exposition, rising action, climax, etc.)
Have a picture1-3 COMPLETE sentences
explaining that part of the plot.Color

The plot squares combined with your Type II Journal will be a major grade on your next Progress Report for the 2nd 6 weeks
Your plot squares are due no later than this Thursday October 11th.
Reminder: If at any time I see that you cannot handle working with a partner OR you are not contributing to the assignment, you will be asked to work alone.
I will give you 30 seconds to pair with a partner
When you are ready, one person will come grab a piece of white construction paper
Together, we are going to label each square of the plot square assignment (do this in pencil)
