    Welcome Message

    Welcome to Québec City, Canada

    Dear colleagues,

    It is our great pleasure to welcome you to attend the 18th edition of the Optics of Liquid Crystals conference which is being held for the first time on Canadian soil in beautiful Québec City.

    Building on the success of past editions, OLC-2019 is a top-level international conference bringing together scientists to share on recent developments in liquid crystal technologies and applications. The conference program is broad with topics including the discovery, synthesis, modeling and study of new liquid crystalline materials as well as their integration into components and devices with a special focus on biophotonics applications. The primary goal of OLC-2019 is to present state-of-the-art research, recent achievements and global trends in liquid crystal technologies and to promote cross-disciplinary interactions that can spur the development of this exciting materials research field.

    Our venue is located in a prime area of Québec City only steps away from most of Québec’s world-class tourism infrastructures: museums, parks, walking tours, boutiques, theaters, concert venues, bars, restaurants, and the historic district of Old Québec, a UNESCO world heritage site since 1985.

    The Local Organizing Committee has prepared an exciting scientific program aiming to bring together scientists and industry specialists from different research fields, which will hopefully foster lucrative information exchange and international collaboration. We wish you an enlightening and productive week as well as a pleasant stay in our city.
