ORGANIZATIONS ARE MOVING TO WINDOWS SERVER 2012, BUT OVER TIME
• Top reasons companies are making the change to Windows Server 2012:
– Virtual desktop infrastructure improvements– Hyper-V Server Virtualization improvements– Resilient file system (ReFS)
• Top inhibitors to migrating to Windows Server 2012:
– Upgrade costs– Happy with current version– Compatibility concerns
ORGANIZATIONS ARE MOVING TO WINDOWS SERVER 2012, BUT OVER TIME
DATA PROTECTION IS TOP OF MIND FOR ORGANIZATIONS
With data protection, enterprises are more likely than SMBs to use separate applications to back up physical and virtual machines.
Regardless of size, most customers would like a single solution that can handle both physical and virtual environments.
DATA PROTECTION IS TOP OF MIND FOR ORGANIZATIONS
Although 62% of respondents have separate backup for physical and virtual machines, 91% “love the idea” or are interested in learning more about the benefits a single solution can provide.
WHAT ORGANIZATIONS SHOULD DO BEFORE MIGRATION
Evaluate IT goals such as virtualization and improving server efficiency and if migration fits within these goals.
Evaluate your current environment and what technologies are needed to transition before you migrate.
Use a backup and recovery platform that protects both physical and virtual environments to reduce complexity.
