Syllabus for Final-Term Examinations 2018 2019 Grade: 4 Allocation of Marks: Examination 80% Internal Assessment 20% English Reading Skill: Comprehension (unseen passage): Students should be able to read unfamiliar texts (both poem and prose), understand the meaning of lexical items and answer questions based on it. Aural (Listening) Skill: Students should be able to listen to unfamiliar recording pieces and answer question based on it. Language Skill: Students should be able to write grammatically correct sentences, use correct spellings. develop reading and comprehension skills, explain and answer questions from text, build vocabulary and correct errors. Punctuation: Students will be able to identify and rewrite passages by putting in the correct punctuation. Special focus on quotation marks, speech marks will be given. Spelling: Students will be expected to rewrite Commonly Misspelt Words (unseen) practiced in class as well as from the spelling book units done in class. Literature: Students will be able to analyze the characters, plot, the theme, registering personal interpretation of the characters, explaining in reference to the context. Writing Skill: Children will be able to do unseen Composition or Descriptive Essay/ Informal Letter Writing on a topic. Students will manage to incorporate given word bank for compositions.
