COMPUTER APPLICATIONS PRACTICALThe computer application practical is spread over all the six semesters. The faculty in

charge of the practical will decide the practical list. A minimum of 10 exercises will beworked out in each semester relevant to areas of Commerce. During the end semesterpractical examinations, the internal and external examiners will be setting the questionpaper from the list of practical in the record.

INTERNSHIP TRAININGThe practical training is essential to expose the students to the real life work

situation and to strengthen the conceptual knowledge gained in the classroom. 2 weeksinternship is to be arranged during the summer vacation after the fourth semester. Thetraining shall be in banking, financial institution, or an industrial enterprise orconsultancy organizations. Candidates should maintain a work dairy and submit a reportat the end of the study. The department to conduct a viva-voce. The Principal of thecollege and the Head of the Department shall issue a certificate to the effect that thestudent had satisfactorily undergone the internship training for the prescribed period. Thereport should contain a minimum of 40 pages.Evaluation:

Work diary 15 marksAttendance 10 marksReport 50 marksViva voce 25 marks

PROJECT VIVA VOCEProject work, which is compulsory, carries 100 marks. A student should select a

topic for the project work in the fifth semester itself and submit the project report(dissertation) at the end of the sixth semester. There is viva for project work carrying 20marks. The guide and an external examiner shall evaluate the project report and conductthe viva. The project work shall be related to commerce with computer applications inbusiness or it may involve software development.

OPEN COURSEStudents who have not opted Basic Tamil / Advance Tamil Course in Semester II

can opt open courses offered by various departments. (Inter disciplinary). End semesterexamination will be conducted at the end of Semester II. The duration of the endsemester examination will be 2 hours for a maximum of 50 marks. The ESE markssecured by the candidate will be equated to a maximum of 75 marks.

SKILL BASED SUBJECTStudents have to select any one of the following skill based subject in the III

Semester and the papers will be spread over four semesters (III, IV, V, VI semester). Theexams will be conducted for these papers in the end of the IV and VI semester.

ALLIED PAPERSSix options are given for the students in the allied papers in the III and IV

semester and they have to choose any one paper. Exams will be conducted in therespective semesters.

ELECTIVE PAPERSThree options are given for the elective papers in the V and VI semester and they

have to choose any one paper. Exams will be conducted in the respective semesters.
