Algebra 1 is a high school mathematics course designed for students who have successfully acquired and mastered, basic arithmetic skills.

Algebra 1 is a high school mathematics course designed for students who have successfully acquired and mastered, basic arithmetic skills.

In this course, we will consider the properties of real numbers, linear and quadratic equations (and their graphs), functions, systems of equations, polynomials, rational expressions, and basic data analysis.

In this course, we will consider the properties of real numbers, linear and quadratic equations (and their graphs), functions, systems of equations, polynomials, rational expressions, and basic data analysis. Though it is often a student’s first experience with formal, abstract thought, a solid understanding of Algebra is vital to his or her success in any other mathematical endeavor.

Wiki – All students will have a wiki (web) page. Math journaling will be done here. Wiki pages can be edited / worked on from any computer with internet access.

We will spend a considerable amount of time on computers. Any undirected web-surfing (e-mail, music searching, games, etc.) will constitute an immediate loss of privileges. I will require a meeting with parents and administration to restore such privileges.
