CIVL375: Water and Wastewater Technology

Catalog Data: Credits 3.This course aims at presenting the analysis and designaspects of the main technologies employed in water and wastewatertreatment. It includes physical treatment processes like screening, gritremoval, aeration, sedimentation, and ltration. Chemical treatmentprocesses like coagulation- occulation, softening, iron and manganeseremoval, disinfection, ion echange and adsorption, and !iologicaltreatment processes like activated sludge and anaero!ic treatmentunits. The course addresses the reuse of wastewater and the treatmentand disposal of techni"ues of generated sludge. It also includes anum!er of la!oratory eperiments illustrating selected water andwastewater treatment technologies. #3-$-$%
