What is a Syllable?

“A Syllable is a unit of pronunciation that is organized around a vowel. It may or may not have consonants before or after the vowel.”

“I sure wish somebody had told me that before!”

Child Friendly: A syllable is a word or part of a word with one vowel sound. Every syllable has to have at least one vowel.
