SYE NEWS Inside the Issue EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING DURING COVID-19 As the situation with COVID-19 continues to change, the Morgan State University Second Year Experience (SYE) Program is adapting to the challenges posed by the pandemic while trying to keep the education and health of our students at the forefront of our SYE implementation. Student internships and other forms of experiential leaning are an important component of learning by doing, yet they can also put students at risk for contracting the virus. The Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) which is responsible for coordinating the SYE Program is working to offer second year students as many virtual experiential learning opportunities as possible. Many companies and organizations are offering opportunities that can be done virtually. CASA is continually informing second-year students of the opportunities that are available via their MSU email and our website ([email protected]). Students will still be required to complete an Experiential Learning Plan (ELP) so that our office is able to document the student’s experience.
