ASSEMBLY AND OPERATION

Your magnifying lamp is in two parts, thelamp with adjustable arms, and the clampassembly (item 7), which comprises a “g”clamp on to which is mounted a holder foraccommodating the spigot on theunderside of the lamp base. The holdermay be rotated by up to 180°, by slacken-ing the knob (item 11), and re-tighteningwhere required. This allows the lamp to beupright, with the “g” clamp mounted onsurfaces at varying angles up to thevertical.

SETTING UPThe lamp is designed so that it will remainstable in any desired position. Wheninstalling your lamp, first slacken off thepivot pinch bolts, using the large adjusterknobs (item 6), to allow the arms to movefreely. Tighten the pinch bolts so that theyare firm, but do not over tighten. When thepivots are correctly tightened, the lampshould be capable of maintaining stabilityin any position, without the need forreadjustment.

MAINTENANCEThe unit requires little maintenance, and is limitedto changing the tube when necessary, andcleaning the lens.

Liquid glass cleaner may be used to clean the lens, used sparingly and with a soft dry cloth. Do notwet the tube or electrical connections.

To change the tube, slacken off two of the tubes’spring retaining clips (item 13), allowing the tube tobe withdrawn. Pull off the 4 pin plug, and connectit on the new tube. Place the tube on its seating, ensuring the wires connected to the plug arepushed back behind the tube shield. They shouldnot be allowed to hang free, alongside or restingagainst the tube. Be careful not to force the plugas the pins are offset to prevent the plug frombeing connected at 90° to its’ correct position. Finally, retighten the spring retaining clip screws.Replacement tube - domestic florescent, 22 watt210 o/d.
