Tools: The “Go Bag” usually has everything in it. Get familiar with the contents.

What’s usually in it? Glucose tabs Juice box Candy? (not chocolate) Glucose gel / honey packets Glucagon®

What to do, what to do?!?

Establish a good , reliable blood glucose reading.

“Rule of 15” If you can feed them:

15grams of carbohydrates Wait 15 minutes Recheck BG If below target, repeat process

If before a meal , these carbs DO NOT COUNT towards the meal count!

What if they can’t eat?

Use the Gel / HoneyYell for help Call 911 if advised to ahead of

timeLay person on their side

Squeeze the lower cheek full of gel or honey and massage into their gums

Wait 15 mins and recheck then feed them!
