SWACHH BHARAT
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also called as the Clean India Mission or Swachh Bharat
Campaign. The Father of our country ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ rightly said that “Sanitation is more
essential than independence” amid his time before the freedom of India. Following his words
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi conveyed “ A clean India would be the best tribute India
could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on account of 150th
birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in
2019.
The Institution Vision on Swachh Bharat
The aim of Swachh Bharat programme is to achieve a clean and Open Defecation Free
society.
Objectives
To bring about an improvement in the general quality of life in the rural areas, by
promoting cleanliness, hygiene and eliminating open defecation.
To accelerate sanitation coverage in rural areas to achieve the vision of Swachh
Bharat
To motivate communities to adopt sustainable sanitation practices and facilities
through awareness creation and health education.
To encourage cost effective and appropriate technologies for ecologically safe and
sustainable sanitation.
To develop, Solid & Liquid Waste Management systems for overall cleanliness in the
rural areas.
Actions taken by the institution are as follows:
Awareness programme conducted by the college to avoid open defecation near Noyil
river bank in Tirupur, Semanthampalayam and Pollikalipalayam village.
Door to Door information given by the students to promote personal cleanliness and
hygiene in Semanthampalayam and Pollikalipalayam village.
Motivation programme conducted on sustainable sanitation practices and health
education in Semanthampalayam and Pollikalipalayam village.
Solid & Liquid Waste Management awareness also given to the people who reside
closer to the college.
Solid and liquid waste is under management in the campus.
No open incineration in the campus.
Biodegradable litters of the campus are compost naturally.
Rain water runoff is managed by proper conservation methods.
Promoted cleanliness in the Campus and in the Society. Examples of the programme
