North, South, East, West, this assignment was to photograph design elements in the world around us. (ex. line, shape, light ect.)

In class we were given a selection of movies tochoose from. I chose Gangs of New York, after we selected our mov-ies we had to go to the New York Public Library and check out im-ages and only use those within the peice.

We were assigned a chapter out of the book Low Life and that chapter would be the theme of every project over the second semester. I was assigned “hop” another word for drugs. I had to covey that theme throughout a handmade alphabet using the xerox machine.

What i decided to do was take a water dropper and drip water inthe form of letters on my scanner. I then dripped ink into the letterforms getting an organic yet psychedelic look to each letter. The water representing the pure ideal self and the ink representing the drug spreading throughout and consuming. The second alphabet i used a napkin with the same concept in mind.

We were assigned to create a self portrait using only letters.

We were given a selection of fonts and number of letters we were able to use within the collage, our task was to make it visually exciting with the constraints.

We had to choose a fundraiser or a cause and create a poster with it using partial graphic design and typography.

We were assigned to create our own typeface.

I chose to use disney characters, mainly demonstrating that killing animals is wrong. No one would ever hurt a disney character or take them away from their home.

The assignment was to do a week of diary entries using only typeography.

Use a circle to represent the earth and a square to represent you.

Explanation of intention: This planet is noth-ing without it’s beautiful animals. I love animals, they are my world and they are not treated correctly. I want to be the saviour of them animals, right now it may be baby steps but one day i will do my best to improve ani-mal lives.
