Dear Parents, Colleagues, and Violin Students, We are delighted to welcome you to our upcoming Suzuki violin workshop on Sunday 6th October 2019 in Utrecht! This workshop is offered to Suzuki violinists, their families, and teachers. In honour of Dr. Suzuki’s spirit, we aim to create an opportunity to learn alongside one another, demonstrate our best efforts, and experience the empowering magic of playing music together. This year is the 45th anniversary of the Accademia Filarmonica. It also marks the year that it’s founder, Johannes Lievaart, has been teaching the violin for 60 years. In celebration of this we have invited guest Suzuki teachers Veerle van Gorp (Belgium), Peter Nys (Belgium), and Michaela Zirnbauer (Germany) to give group classes. Esteemed Accademia Filarmonica alumni Tim Kliphuis (Dutch jazz/folk/classical violinist) will conduct group improvisation classes and Lisa Jacobs (Dutch soloist, concert violinist) will give special Masterclasses to advanced students. We will conclude the workshop with a concert and festive reception! Location

Arrival and orientation from 9:30 Welcome meeting 10:15 Classes begin 10:30 Closing Concert and Reception 15:45-18:00 ~ Please bring your own lunch – coffee, tea and lemonade will be provided ~

Registration Half-time Participants: Students playing Twinkle variation 1 up to Song of the Wind receive classes in the morning. Half-time participants are welcome to observe the afternoon classes and encouraged to join in the closing concert. Full-time Participants: Students playing Go Tell Aunt Rhody and beyond receive classes for the full day.

Masterclass Lisa Jacobs: Offered to students playing repertoire from Suzuki Book 6 and beyond. If you wish to participate, please specify as indicated on the enrolment form.
