High Performance Building ConsultingEnergy Modeling- tool used to predict energy consumption in a building. We base the model on climate zone, building parameters, utility rates and heating and cooling loads. On projects where an energy model has already been developed, we can also provide a peer review, where we provide insight ensuring that the owner’s interests are represented.

USGBC LEEDTM Modeling SimulationTo satisfy the requirements of USGBC LEEDTM Energy & Atmosphere Credits we carry out a whole Building Simulation for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (USGBC LEEDTM). In addition to modeling the building and creating the documentation for the submission, we provide full USGBC LEEDTM project Administration to facilitate the submission process for both Design and Construction Credits.

Environmental Management SystemsWe work with clients to develop a road-map to identify the baseline, establish metrics, determine data to be collected and identify additional data that may need to be tracked in order to pursue the most appropriate EMS certifications and which sustainability analytical tools to be used.

Product EvaluationWith the aim of getting your product certified and installed we connect manufacturers with design and construction professionals by creating awareness, educating and building demand for their products. Carbon Footprint AnalysisWith our expertise in sustainable buildings we undertake Carbon footprint analysis of the projects we are engaged in. Safety, Health and Environmental ManagementWe are committed to positively contributing to the efforts of our clients in developing their projects in such a way as to minimise their environmental impact, where such commitment is compatible with the scope of our commission.

WEB Ltd ensures compliance with the Occupational Health and SAfety Act 1993 (OHS ACT), OHSAS 18001 and other statutory regulations and international best practices. We monitor implementation of the Environment Protection Policy, Environmental Plans and compliance with the National Environmental Management Act 1998 (Act 107 of 1998), the Environment Conservation Act 1989 (Act 73 of 1989), ISO 14001 and other applicable environmental legislation.

Elizabeth holds a dual Masters in Design Science for Sustainable Design and Building Services. She is a Green Star (Australia) and USGBC LEEDTM (US Green Building Council) Accredited Professional with Building Design and Construction Specialty. She has a successful track record being in senior management and lead consultant capacity on a number of major projects including Airports, Commercial, Residential and Shopping Malls in the Middle East, UK, Australia and Nigeria.

Elizabeth has extensive experience in liaising with local authorities to establish sustainable targets, innovative alternatives and eradicate industry ‘green washing’ practices. Her knowledge of international sustainable design principles and practices including positive and negative impacts of sustainable rating systems and regulations assists in the facilitation of sustainable design development from feasibility to post completion stage.

The developer’s aim is to address and incorporate sustainable solutions through design, construction and operation while remaining sensitive to cost and appropriateness of sustainable solutions in the regional industry and environment.

Manufacturer product declaration – APEX Steel in its commitment to providing the market with the information it needs to be able to properly assess the environmental impact of their products. WEB Limited undertook a due diligence on their rolling mill division products ; Deformed bars (QST Bars) (D8,D10,D12,D16,D20,D25 ,D32 & D40), Angle lines, Mild Steel Z (MSZ) –Z Section, Flat bars and Round Bars and prepare a manufacturer product declaration.

The due diligence provided information on the manufacturing process of the products and their environmental contribution to Green Building rating tools (LEED & Green Star).

WEB Limited provided OHS services to Mentor Management Limited. The services included carrying out safety and health audits and risk assessments in line with provisions of the Kenya Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007 and to international standards such as OHSAS 18001.The project was an office fit-out.

WEB Limited was appointed to provide OHS services to EMC Real Estate. The services included carrying out safety and health audits and risk assessments in line with provisions of the Kenya Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007 and to international standards such as OHSAS 18001.

The proposed Dunhill Towers Office development is in Westland’s, Nairobi along Waiyaki Way. The proposed building is of 13,740 m2 GFA and a GBA of 26,673 m2. The development seeks to set the standard in green office buildings and sustainable design in Kenya and the entire East African region.

The Dunhill Towers development comprises of 20 storeys: parking levels on basement, ground, 1st - 6th floors, office levels on 7th -19th floors and roof level to have water tanks and services.

Arena mall is an ultra modern mall located long Kibuli & Nsumbya roads in Uganda.The development has a total build up area of 19,289 SQM,comprising of retal show rooms,supermarket,coffee shops,exhibition centers,ultra modern cinema,food court terrace, restaurants, banks and general stores.The development seeks to set the standard in green buildings and sustainable design in Uganda and the entire East African region.

WEB Limited in partnership with the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA), Green Building Council of Uganda, AECOM and Design for Abundance undertook the Green Star SA-Uganda New Building contextualization. This was part of our continued commitment to transforming the landscape of construction in the East and Central African region.

The report applies to the GreenStarTM SA – Office v1.1 tool , GreenStarTM SA - Retail Centre v1, GreenStarTM SA – Multi Unit Residential v1 & GreenStarTM SA - Public & Education Building v1, and considers the applicability of the tool in Uganda.

The process was sponsored by Stanlib Africa (Pty) Ltd as an assurance to their investors and the region of keeping to their promise of FOCUSED INVESTING on the things that really matter.

WEB Limited was appointed to undertake an EIA for the proposed Runda Hotel. The EIA is to be in accordance with Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA, 1999) and relating it with GreenstarTM SA-Kenya Hotel V1 Certification. Runda Hotel is located in Runda, Nairobi County The total development area is 16,805 m2 and consists of 3 level hotel, restaurant and bar facilities and gym conferencing facilities.

The Sasakwa Hillside Lodges have been positioned on a unique piece of land affording each its own setting and individual view characteristics. The infrastructure design, individual lodge sites and landscape design have been considered to achieve international sustainability and best practice standards of LEED accreditation as a minimum.

The success of this intricate ecosystem is solely reliant on the annual migration.The design team With regards to sustainability has based the design of the homes on sustainability principles of One Planet analysis and recommendations.

Corporate Social Responsibility

WEB Limited through its subsidiary company, BoneyeVisual has been running the Green Apple Day of service (GADS) as its contribution towards corporate Social Responsibility. BoneyeVisual has undertaken the 2012,2013 & 2014 GADS in collaboration with other partners.

2012Held on 28th of September at the Makini School in Nairobi Kenya. It involved the students cleaning a river that runs through their school, planting trees and cleaning the environment which was followed by a Gala. 2013It was held at the Nairobi Arboretum on the 28th September 2015.The event partners included the We Care club and venue hosts the Arboretum Trust. The participants were drawn from Makini Primary School, Makini High School and University of Nairobi The event involved planting of commemoration garden, group participation games, nature walk where the students got to learn about different flora and fauna in Kenya. 2014WEB Limited and Global Communities Partnership for Good partnered with other corporates and NGO’s to deliver the Green Apple Day of service on the 27th of September 2014 at Ndururuno Primary School in Mathare. The event brought together seven schools in Mathare for Green Apple Day of Service 2014: Mathare 4A Primary, Mathare North Primary, Huruma Primary, Salama Primary, Drive Inn Primary, Ndururuno Primary and Ndururuno Secondary School.

2015The Green Apple Day of Service 2015 Kenya was celebrated on 10th October 2015 at Garden City Mall, Nairobi bringing together primary, secondary and university students as well as parents, teachers and other corporate individuals. WEB Limited in collaboration with the Kenya Green Building Society visited participating schools and engaged the over 500 students in educational sessions (theoretical and practical) on recycling & waste management, energy efficiency, water management, greening existing schools, transportation and indoor environmental quality.
