Profile of the study program

The SARUD Master's Program "Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development" focuses on

practical education in the field of sustainable agriculture and rural development. It is an

interdisciplinary specialty at the interface between economics and agriculture.

The Master's program SARUD considers the basic international

concepts of sustainable development,

covering all three components of sustainability.

Specialists in the field of sustainable agriculture and rural development

will be able to independently apply the concepts

of rural development to local conditions.

1 Assessment Assess the economic, ecologic and social aspects of the sustainable state of agriculture and

development of rural territories.

2 Synthesis To substantiate and interpret the program of regional development of the agro-industrial complex,

taking into account the directions of the agrarian state policy in the development of rural areas.

3 Analysis Analyze the development of rural areas on economic indicators, conduct economic, social and

ecological assessments of the potential of rural areas, analyze the state of the environment,

substantiate the ways of solving the problems which inhibit their sustainable development.

4 Use Be able to give an economic assessment of the state and perspectives of the development of

agriculture, ecology and social services in rural areas, apply methods of involving the population

in their development, apply assessment methods of investment projects on the economic /

environmental / social aspects.

5 Understanding Explain the scientific basis of the sustainable growth of the agrarian economy and development of

rural territories, the level and quality of life of the rural population, the rational use of natural

resources and the preservation of the natural environment; progressive enhancement of the cultural

potential of rural areas; describe the process of forecasting and planning the development of the

region on the basis of taking into account the interrelationships of the economic, environmental,

social and technological components.

6 Knowledge Compile a list of economic indicators of the sustainable development of rural areas, know the list

and content of normative and legislative documents, name the republic and local taxes, identify the

sources of investments, tell about the content of socio-economic and ecological assessment of the

potential of rural areas, assess the state of the labor market economy.
