    Schmidt earned the recogni-tion by volunteering on churchmission trips in Indiana andSouth Dakota where she workedwith children and painted hous-es. She has been an active vol-unteer in the local community asa member of the Sussex LEOclub and National HonorSociety.

    The scholarships are administeredthrough the Wisconsin AcademicEducational Aids Board and fundedthrough matching state and college

    contributions. They are given annuallyto recognize the states highest achiev-ing students and to provide an incen-tive for them to continue their educa-tion in Wisconsin.
