HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering


The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is a specialist vocational programme with a strong work-related emphasis. This course allows students to learn and develop a range of techniques and personal qualities essential for successful performance in working life, and thereby prepare for a range of technical and management careers in engineering.


NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment

Code: 9989Start date: 09/09/2013Time: 9am - 5pmDuration: 4 yearsCampus: Ore ValleyFee: £1000 pa + £100 exam

You will not only learn about electrical installation theory and science, but also about practical applications. You will be assessed in our workshop and in the workplace. It replaces older technical certificates and NVQs, and will enable successful learners to be eligible to become members of a “competent persons” scheme, and a recognised tradesperson with the JIB.

This course is perfect if you want a successful career as a professional engineer. You will develop a range of skills in useable engineering maths and science, computer-aided design and computer numerical control. The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is a specialist vocational programme with a strong work-related emphasis. Ideal for those who have completed an apprenticeship but wish to develop their academic qualifications. You will study key areas such as the use of mathematics, engineering principles, modern design and manufacturing techniques. All of these are essential for an immediate contribution to your employment.


HNC in Nuclear Engineering


Higher National Certificates (HNC) are a specialist vocational programme with a strong work-related emphasis. All work-related modules are done in the workplace, which complements the academic modules that take place in the college. The course teaches you about engineering principles, design techniques, analytical methods and work-related skills.

Timber Projects – Garden Furniture, Benches etc


Build your own timber project. Come and learn from our experts and build an item for your own garden. Agree your project plan with our carpenters and be supported by them while you develop it.

The scheme provides FREE short courses, which give you the right skills to work in local businesses. At the end of your course, you are guaranteed an interview with an employer who will be hiring directly from Inside Track’s pool of newly trained job-seekers.

Previous students have successfully gained jobs with Prime Care, Pets at Home, Dunhelm Mills and Hastings Direct. Your benefits will not be affected while you are studying.
