Acquire A Weapon
When first becoming aware of the zombie
problem, not panicking is of paramountimportance to your survival. Your first order of
business should be to acquire a melee weapon.
Some law enforcement and civilians will still
be active and using guns will only draw
unwanted attention. The goal of this melee
weapon is to maintain the distance between you
and your attacker by causing stumbling, broken
bones, or falling to the ground. At this point,
weapons should be used to facilitate escape, not
necessarily to kill. An important fact to
remember is that anything around you can beturned into a weapon under the right
conditions. Preferably a cylindrical, long object
that one can swing will be near, but make sure
whatever weapon you acquire, a backup is also
maintained. This is if your primary weapon
breaks because nobody wants to be caught flat-
footed and defenseless.
Forming A Group
A group of twelve people is the ideal situationto find yourself in when attempting to survive
the zombie apocalypse. This number of people
does not make it too difficult to maintain
supply levels, but is a good
number to facilitate supply
scavenging, fighting small
groups of zombies, and getting
tasks done quickly. Anymore
than twelve survivors may
stretch supplies to thinly, but
too few people and clearing out
buildings and protecting them
may become significantly more
challenging.
Types Of Survivors
Finding specific types of
people in this chaotic time will
be difficult, but pay dividends.
A medic, military (ROTC) student, cook, a couple
people with weapon handling experience,
organizer, and a local will do wonders. The ROTC
student will help with navigation of the Armoryand is trained to think as a
team 100% of the time. The
organizer can keep stock of
what is on hand and
required/desired supply
wise. The local is best
suited to being the
navigator of the group and
finding supply cache
locations. The medic, cook,
and gunmen are self-explanatory. Furthermore, it
is highly suggested the group contain both men and
women. A testosterone/estrogen imbalance will
make the group more volatile and at some point the
issue of world repopulation must be considered.
Interaction With Other Groups
Be extremely wary when approached by other
groups. As time passes, people will become more
and more desperate to obtain what they require. It
is highly advised to refuse help to all groups. Notonly will they consume valuable supplies, but they
may choose to seize them all and leave your group
for the undead. On an individual basis, let in only
those whose loyalty you can prove, which may
involve a lengthy trial period. Be warned, the more
people you take on, the larger target and more
cumbersome you become.
Group Movement
When moving through hostile territory, adopt four

man squad formations in the shape of the blue
dots in the figure to the right. The yellow cones
represent that squad members zone of
responsibility. This gives the best coverage ofthe surrounding area to prevent ambush. When
in battle, this formation allows three squad
members to fire to any one side of the
formation.
Armory Information
Entering And Securing The Armory
Approach the armory from the front as its
entrance provides the easiest access to supply
areas and the least approaches for zombieattacks. Once the front lobby has been secured,
split up into teams of four. In order of
precedence, the group needs to secure the
supplies downstairs, upstairs, and finally those
on the main level. Designate one team to
defend the armories entries and exits. Until
moving to secure the drill deck's supplies, post
one survivor at the doorway leading to the drill
deck, one at the front door, and the last two at
the top of the back staircase which can be
reached by moving to the upper floor at the endof the hallway. Once the top and bottom floors'
supplies have been procured, move onto the main
drill deck and move the security team members to
the North, South, and East sides of the deck. In the
following sections, the supplies to gather and theirlocations are discussed in further detail.
Lower Level Supply Acquisition
To the right of the front doors is a staircase leading
to the basement. Directly in front of the team at the
bottom, is the door leading to the main supply
rooms. Within the main supply rooms, the team
needs to secure: Navy Working Uniforms, ILBEs,
canteens, camping gear, and large containers. The
Navy Working Uniform, as seen on the right, is
comprised of a long sleeved blouse and a pair ofpants that are bite resistant and built to withstand
the toughest elements . They also have heavy
jackets which keep the wearer warm in the coldest
climates. Steel-toed combat boots are worn on the
feet which connect seamlessly to the pants and
provide protection while maintaining agility.
Finally, thick leather gloves and a hat can be worn
for further protection. Next, ILBE's are military
backpacks, as seen on the left, that can increase the
carrying capacity of each survivor by 122 liters
(Military Times 1). This space provides flexibilityin what your team can/wants to carry. In addition,
lashing straps allow the attachment of weapons that
are within arms reach.
Third, the canteens are durable and each can store
one liter of water for indefinite amounts of time
and the numbers contained in the armory, fifty
plus, will provide a good supply of water. Camping

Final Armory Notes
Due to several expansions and rebuilds throughout
its history, the Armory can be a highly confusing
place to those who have never visited its innerhalls. These pictures are here to guide you around
a building that allows no space to go unused and
stocks incredibly useful gear everywhere. This
guide is guaranteeing that with the nature of the
Armorys storage system, supplies will be there for
your team to possess. The military is prepared for
battle and youre in the middle of one.
