Suriname is about the same size as Florida, but Florida has about 1.5 million

more people. Originally, Suriname was called the Republic of Suriname. Not very many

people want to go to Suriname, but there are many reasons why people should go.

Suriname should be one of the top countries on a global awareness list. Three reasons

to include Suriname on this list are their exports, markets, and the grit they had to stop

    the gold rush.

The first reason to visit Suriname is for their exports. Suriname is about the

same size as Florida, but it is not as busy. Their main product is bauxite. Bauxite takes

up about 70% of the pie.1 Even though bauxite takes up most of the pie that does not

mean that it is their main export, aluminum is their main export. They also produce gold,

oil, hardwood, bananas, and Red Bull. Exports in Suriname increased to 540.70 USD

Million in the second quarter of 2014. 2 Suriname exports many things, which is great.

The second reason you should go to Suriname is for their towns. All of the interior

in these towns are one of a kind. On the streets of these towns, there are people that

can help you with phone problems and sell any type of things for phones. These towns

are on the edges of the Anaula River. There is a traditional drink that is served at every

restaurant. This drink contains coconut water, lemon grass, and milk. Im a gunman

and a farmer. 3 Despite the fact that no one really knows about Suriname they are very

    well governed.

The third reason to go to Suriname is to help them. There is a gold rush going on

in Suriname right now, and the gold miners are destroying the rainforests. On March 23,

2008, there was 100 grams of gold found. 4 The Maroons are the people that own the

land that the miners are working on. Since the gold mining is destroying rainforest,

animals are losing their homes. The monkey's shelter is well built in comparison to the

shacks where the miners live, proof that somebody in the camp really loves the little

guy. We need to be sending experienced workers over to Suriname so we can stop

    these gold rushes.

To sum it up, this is why Suriname should be at the top of a global awareness

chart. Suriname exports many things, even though bauxite takes up 70% of their total

exports it does not mean that it is their most popular. In Suriname, their towns are filled

with hard working people, and they have worked so hard to make these towns the best

that they can possibly be. We should be sending people over to Suriname to help stop

the gold rushes, and be saving their amazing rainforests. This is why people should visit

Suriname because even though they do not have any luxurious sites, Suriname is a

    place to see.
