TOOTH

A 10 years old male patient came to

Outpatient Department of

Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry,

with the chief complaint of non-eruption of upper anterior teeth.

• No contributory medical history was found.

• Dental history – it was his first dental visit.

Intra oral examination shows patient was in permanent dentition.

There was a soft tissue bulge present

in relation to 21.

Upper occlusal radiograph shows a

supernumerary tooth present palatal to 21

Treatment plan:Extraction of supernumerary tooth along with excision of the soft tissue overlying 21.

Tooth extracted

Palatal mucoperiosteal flap elevated

Bone removed by micromotor handpiece

and surgical bur

Excision of soft tissue overlying 21 done

Suture given

Cover plate fitted to upper arch

After 1 week , suture removed.

Postoperative

After 2 weeks

After 1 year
