Du’a of Rasool Allah (s.a.w)

O Allah! Make me one who is most patient and grateful; and make me small in my own eyes but great in the eyes of

others.

Page 6: Surah al Baqarah

When the world pushes you to your knees, your

are in the perfect position to pray.

Page 7: Surah al Baqarah

The shortest distance between a problem and its solution is the distance between your knees

and the floor. The one who kneels to Allah can stand up to

anything.

Psychology Connection

• DELAYED GRATIFICATION – ability to resist the temptation for an earlier reward and wait for a reward later on (Self-Control)

• In our brain, we have the reward circuitry and when we control ourselves from acting on our emotions, this benefits our behaviour in life

Page 9: Surah al Baqarah

LESSONS

• SABR does NOT mean being passive• Be active, get help, keep doing what you’re

doing and ALSO ask for Allah’s help without complaining or haste

Disaster or Calamity

Page 18: Surah al Baqarah

The Prophet s.a.w said , "If any Muslim man or woman suffers a calamity and keeps it in his memory, even if it happened a long time

ago, saying each time it is remembered, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un" ('We belong to Allah and to Him do we return,')

Allah, who is Blessed and Exalted will give a fresh reward each time it is said, equivalent

to the reward when it happened."

(Tirmidhi, Ahmad and Bayhaqi)

Saying upon remembering a calamity

And we all know the famous incidence about the companion Abu Talha and his wife when one of the sons died and Abu Talha was not at

home. She washed and shrouded him and when Abu Talha came home and asked about his son, she said, 'The

child is quiet and I hope he is in peace….'

(Bukhari)
