Judge Profile Mrs Matina Butcher (NSW)Matina Butcher has successfully shown imported and bred Saint Bernard’s since

establishing her Stiniyasu Kennels in 1982.

Since then she has imported 5 Saint Bernard’s from America including 3 American

Champions. Her kennel boasts the individual accomplishment of being the first

exhibitor to title American imported Saint Bernard’s in Australia or New Zealand of

the rough and smooth coat variety. She was also the first exhibitor to successfully

gain the title of Australian Champion on a Swedish Import in Australia, Aust. Ch.

Bernegardens Nothing But Trouble (imp Swe), handling this dog to multiple Best in

Show winning under two different American Specialist judges. She holds her

Specialty Breed Judging Licence, which she gained in the late 80’s, as well as several

Gp Licences and has Judged overseas as a Specialist and also Group levels.

As her time as President of The NSW Saint Bernard Club, along with

the most dedicated & hard working committee, the Breed Standard

was changed to FCI 61 (Country of Origin), The Saint Bernard Club

of NSW became Incorporated & our NSW new Logo was created.

During that time the Club ran Obedience Competitions at our 2 NSW Specialty Shows with entries reaching over 100!

On a professional level, Matina holds a Batchelor Degree in Pharmacy from The University of Sydney. She has been

involved in running successful business , including 2 Pharmacies and an Interstate Horse Transport Company. She

currently owns and manages a Pharmacy at Bowral in The Southern Highlands of NSW. In between this busy schedule

she found time to have three children. Two beautiful identical twins girls and a son.

Matina is still active in the Dog Show world Showing or Judging almost every weekend, We would like to welcome

Matina for her first appiontment Judging the St. Bernard Club Queensland Championship Specialty Show in 2019.

PRESIDENT’S SHOW MESSAGE

Welcome St Bernard enthusiasts, Exhibtors & Breeders to Ring 6 Dogs Queensland Sports Grounds Durack.

Firstly we would like to make you aware this event is live streamed & recorded on the Clubs Facebook page for all

to enjoy our show that couldn’t make it in person.

Thank you for your entries exhibitors and attendance fanciers of our breed to share our first Championship

Specialty Show back by the resurrected St Bernard Club Queensland.

There are so many thank you’s but I must start firstly with:

- Australias’s longest licensed Breed Specialist Judge, Mrs Matina Butcher, for paying your own airfare to

officiate for our struggling club & donating your Judge’s fee also, with out this kind of genoursity it would

have been a very different returning Championship Specialty St. Bernard Show.

- Our major sponsor, Royal Canin for their generous support of our small breed club. A brand many of us

choose to use & support for the outstanding results in development and longevity in health to our dogs.

- Our other sponsors Marellen Show Ribbons for our breeder rosettes, Puppy Antix Ware, Draycan Kennels,

regular Show Manager’s fee.

- Adam Read, our Treasurer for collecting our Judge from the Airport.

- Ryan Loring or Ryry Smith-HAUSOFSNOW to everyone reading on Facebook, our Secretary for his hard

work and dedication in running the Club, Dog Lovers Expo Brisbane, organizing both 2018 & 2019 show’s

for you & securing sponsorship arragments for our club, no easy task anymore. As a “younger” exhibitor

of St. Bernard’s his passion, knowledge, commitment & work for our breed is second to none & has

been plesure to mentor him over the years, myself learning many new things from his pet retail extensive

training, pharmaceuticals is a particular passion of Ryan’s to stay upto date with.

- And anyone who has brought a plate to share at either Morning tea or Lunch.

Matina will be giving an informal talk for anyone interested at lunch time & possibly there will be some trainee

judges in attendance so a breed lecture ringside. We would love to have your dogs for the trainees to go over and

learn more about our breed. Knowledge is power and judges become more confident with the more exposure they

have to any breed. On behalf of the club I invite you to join us for morning tea and/or lunch.

Public St Bernard enthusiasts, Just a friendly reminder but please all dogs must be kept leashed & clear from ring

and assembly area so the dogs can be judged fairly free from

distractions. Do also keep them clear of the show dogs unless you

are offered an invation to approach that handler by them.

We have a small area opposite the ring 6 for any super eager pet

St Bernards, Enjoy the day everyone.
