He left the Presbytery after tea to g ' to the railway station but bad >nly reacbc:sl half way when be waa compelled to return.. On rnch­i.ng home he fell into a com< tose condition and died about half past eight o'Clock. Rev, F ather Sheehan was with him at the last.

Father Battcock .waa a louble man, of the kindliest na1ure. Be wa also a highly cul! Jred man and a forceful and ear nest preacher. For years he lab>red at King's Cove, Bay-de-V' rde, Hollrood, Gambo i>nd St. r reo­dans, and within the past two Iears be was remOTed to the par­tsh of Holyrqod'. He was a n< tive Ferr;land aad about 60 yean old at hts death. His d€mise w;ill be since~y mourned by the people of Hch'rood who became gnatly attached to him, by his f01 mer parishionen in kct by all who once knew him.
