KBC Great Music in Irish Houses Festival

SUPPORT ACT ndash THE RESIDENCY

The KBC Great Music in Irish Houses Festivalrsquos Support Act invites

applications from talented chamber music ensembles for a new

Residency Programme at the National Botanic Gardens Dublin duringthe 2014 Season Sponsored by KBC this exciting education

programme will give young aspiring chamber ensembles exclusive

access to some of the worldrsquos finest artists at this musical hub over a

five-day period Successful applicants will have the opportunity to

benefit from the knowledge experience and advice of distinguished

Festival performers and other professionals

Up to four ensembles will be invited to participate in Support Act -

The Residency from June 10th to 14th which will culminate in a public

concert in The National Botanic Gardens at 300 pm on Saturday June14th Ultimately one of the selected groups will receive the euro1000 KBCResidency Bursary In addition to underpin the winning ensemblersquos

status as the 2014 KBC Great Music in Irish Houses Residency

Ensemble a number of public engagements throughout Ireland will be

arranged including one at the Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane The

objective of this exciting new residency programme is to build a bank

of vibrant young chamber music ensembles in Ireland

Amongst the artists who have confirmed participation in our new

developed programme are Robert Kulek Associate Professor inChamber Music at the Hochschule fuumlr Musik in Cologne who lists

violinists Julia Fischer Arabella Steinbacher and Gil Shaham and cellist

Daniel Muumlller Schott amongst his chamber music partners The Heath

Quartet Professors of Chamber Musi Fellows at the Guildhall School of

Music and Drama clarinettist-extrordinaire Michael Collins and

Virginia Kerr who will work closely with the young musicians in the

psychology of performance

Interested ensembles including duos should apply in writing to LornaHoran Education Co-Ordinator using the Application Form and providing
