Superior Pipe sales up in Q1

Supreme Steel Pipe Corporation (SSPC), a leading steel pipe manufacturing company, has seen a25% increase in sales of its Superior Pipe brand in the first half of 2012 owing to strong marketdemand for locallyproduced pipes.

SSPC vice president for marketing Regan SY said product demand was driven by the robustgrowth of private construction in the business sector. The upward trend of the office sector andthe relatively high demand for BPO offices in strategic areas across the country fueled the growth

of the brand.

Customers are now patronizing Filipinomade brands because they conform to governmentstandards, said Sy, adding that companies are more aware of the added value offered by local

brands such as aftersales service, which is provided by Superior Pipe.

According to Sy, sales outlook for Superior Pipe remains bullish for the second half of the yearbecause of its competitive price that has given it an advantage over imported .

Superior Pipe is a pioneering brand of Filipinomade steel pipes launched by SSPC in 2010. It ismanufactured with the same high standards used in its predecessor, Supreme Pipe, but pricedmore competitively.

Each pipe is subjected to a battery of tests including hydrostatic, destructive, and nondestructivetests. Superior Pipe is approved by the Bureau of Product Standards and Department of Tradeand Industry, in addition to an ISO 9001 certification.

SSPC produces black and hotdipped galvanized steel pipes under the Supreme Pipe andSuperior Pipe brands in its manufacturing plant in Meycauayan, Bulacan.
