Service Portfolio: People | Process | Outsourcing

Founded in 1957, Superior offers a wide range of complementary workforce and productivity solutions, each one specifically configured to meet unique customer requirements and workflows. For ease of reference, our portfolio is organized into three logical verticals: People, Process, and Outsourcing. People Good talent is hard to find. Superior’s people solutions focus on delivering value to tactical candidate sourcing, screening and placement efforts. Namely, Superior provides:

Contingent Labor Staffing Services – Superior annually sources thousands of contract/temporary candidates for accounting, administrative, clerical, design/drafting, engineering, financial, IT, light industrial, and professional job disciplines.

Payrolling Services – This program allows customers to refer candidates for contingent

employment, and Superior serves as the employer of record to deliver cost savings.

Direct Placement Services – Superior provides qualified professionals to fill direct positions.

Executive Search Services – Our Center of Excellence for Executive Recruitment is focused on the sourcing of candidates for executive-level positions.

Recruitment Process Outsourcing – With our proven, adaptive sourcing models, Superior can

take over all—or portions of—customers’ internal recruitment functions. Process Once the talent is in place, strategic processes amplify productivity, compliance, and cost savings. With over 20 years of experience delivering process solutions, Superior innovates best practices associated with:

Managed Service Programs, MSPs – Managing supplier efforts, we provide programs that are developed collaboratively with our customers to deliver increased candidate quality and decreased costs through free market competition and process standardization.

Vendor Management Systems, VMSes – Superior’s proprietary web-automation was originally deployed in 1998. Requisitioning, administration, supplier management, quality compliance, consolidated invoicing, and reporting are streamlined in our uniquely-configured Work Nexus® installations.

Independent Contractor Compliance Programs, ICCPs – Superior provides one-time and

ongoing screening services that qualify resources as bona fide independent contractors, supporting co-employment risk mitigation efforts.

Managed Services

Superior’s Managed Services Program (MSP) philosophy is grounded in a true understanding of our role as a resource provider of human capital services. Built from this foundation is our commitment to delivering innovative and dependable service delivery models according to our high quality principles and ethical standards. We pride ourselves on our ability to listen to customers and respond with solutions of quantitative and qualitative value. Instead of transactional relationships, we build longstanding business partnerships that span the entire lifecycles of our accounts.

Lasting success in this marketplace is built on trust and relationships. Accordingly, we will work in earnest to build a genuine partnership with your company, who will be our partner in the:

Ongoing refinement of MSP workflows that meet your unique needs;

Mapping of policies that empower the workforce while reducing costs; and

Continual configuration of a Work Nexus deployment that captures processes and reporting requirements specific to your business communities.

Delivery Approach When delivering our program, Superior will:

Assign only our most tenured and talented team to implement and sustain the MSP; Deploy a highly-configured solution that provides efficiency, cost savings, measurable

performance, and strategic value to your company’s user community; Provide your company with direct access to the principals of our organization, who can rapidly

enact program enhancements and stewardship; Allow your company to reap the benefits of our proprietary VMS, described in greater detail

within the next section; and Afford your company the benefits of establishing a business partnership with an organization

structured to enable agility, responsiveness and unparalleled customer service.

Benefits of Managed Services Programs

Cost Savings By leveraging volume and streamlining program administration, our MSP can provide your company with opportunities for significant cost savings.

Rate Standardization

Superior will work with your company to standardize both pay and bill rates. We will establish a not-to-exceed (NTE) rate card sufficient to attract and retain qualified candidates, consistent with the level of services provided.

Process Improvement

Superior will review and optimize the day-to-day processes associated with the administration and management of all contract staffing. Our program reduces administrative burdens, while still providing a means of monitoring contract staffing services through weekly status reports and periodic meetings.

Timely Sourcing of Qualified Candidates

Superior’s MSP allows us to become familiar with your company’s contract staffing needs, enabling us to provide qualified resources. As a result, departments who use our contract employees benefit from increased efficiency.

Reporting Capabilities

Superior can create customized reports for your company in any format, on an ad-hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. Available reports include:

Master listing of all contract employees by name, job title, department, manager, pay rate, regular and overtime hours, and start/end dates.

Starts and terminations for employees by department or supervisor, employee hours, and dollars spent.

Billing summaries providing information for tracking purposes, including billings per week, month, or quarter by business unit.

Quality/performance feedback, including submittal-to-hire ratios, interview-to-hire ratios, and employee retention statistics.

Work Nexus is a Vendor Management System (VMS) that has delivered significant cost savings to our customers. Our web-based application is ideal for organizations seeking enterprise-wide visibility into contract labor, independent contractor, commodity, and/or SOW spend. Work Nexus is not an “off-the-shelf” product; its flexibility ensures that it meets specific customer needs better than any other solution on the market. While most VMS solutions attempt to force their clients’ workflows into their systems, our dedicated Product Architects configure unique solutions around your

processes. In the end, you receive a tool configured specifically for your organization by a tenured team of developers that has been innovating VMS best practices since 1998. Experience Work Nexus has a proven track record—below is a partial list of customers:

Page 8: Superior Group Services

superiorgroup.com 800.568.8310

Work Nexus’ Industry Accolades Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) recently named Work Nexus as a top-ranking VMS provider in its 2010 and 2011 Customer Loyalty Survey. The SIA’s annual report on customer satisfaction and loyalty surveyed over 30,000 users of VMS

products. VMS capabilities for each company were validated jointly by SIA and subject matter experts at Brightfield Strategies—the world leader in contingent workforce consulting. Ultimately, Work Nexus ranked as one of the top four VMS tools, as rated by staffing suppliers. Contingent Labor Management Module Work Nexus:

Allows Managers or their designees to generate job requisitions using preloaded templates with associated rate card information or free-form fields in a real-time environment;

Facilitates approval processes for up to eight levels of approval hierarchy, though we typically recommend no more than four levels be used to ensure efficiency;

Operates in a vendor neutral environment, whereby Superior releases requirements to all approved suppliers simultaneously or via a tiered supplier base developed based on pricing;

Collects candidate submissions from suppliers and channels them to Superior’s Onsite Program Offices for screening prior to release to Managers;

Allows Managers to review resumes online and facilitates real-time feedback loops, as Managers submit comments and requests (such as interview scheduling) within the system that flow immediately to the applicable suppliers;

Manages the onboarding process with checklists loaded into Work Nexus to ensure and track completion of appropriate onboarding requirements;

Ensures that you are getting the most favored pricing; Enables contract workers to log their time and expenses within Work Nexus and submit to

Managers for review and approval; Consolidates the invoicing process, providing electronic remittances to suppliers via EFT; and Provides access to real-time and detailed activity reports that can be leveraged to benchmark

overall program health and uncover opportunities for optimization. Statement of Work (SOW) and Independent Contractor Management Modules Companies more frequently seek systems that can be repurposed to deliver value in verticals other than contract labor, including Statement of Work (SOW) projects and IC management. As is the case for all of our Work Nexus deployments, flexibility is a key differentiator. The SOW and IC module within Work Nexus can be deployed as standalone systems, or as a complementary component to a fully-articulated VMS installation. Work Nexus orchestrates the following processes online and in real-time:

SOW project requisitioning and approval SOW vendor selection and SOW Purchase Order (PO) management Approval and tracking of milestones and/or deliverables Consolidated invoicing by deliverable or milestone PO consumption monitoring, historical SOW usage tracking, reporting, and analysis IC documentation warehousing IC deliverable review and approval Overall IC management

High Level Direct Placement Recruiting Superior is pleased to introduce a National Direct Placement Team, located across the United States, who is responsible for strategically placing senior level management candidates for existing and new customers. This team provides true executive headhunting services for our customers’ requirements. Serviceable direct placement orders are determined by the following:

Nature of the positions, e.g., manager-level and above Base annual salary of $80,000, minimum

Superior’s team focuses on executive-level direct placement positions (C-level, President, VP, Director, and Senior Management). These kinds of searches require a slower, more methodical, and overall different approach that focuses on passive candidates. These candidates don’t typically post resumes to job boards and require different sourcing strategies, recruiting techniques and networking. This team not only provides more specialized executive searches and recruiting capabilities for Superior nationwide, but also focuses on enhancing client partnerships. Along the way, they will define more efficient processes and procedures for effective recruiting and placement of these higher level executives.

Superior ensures that you will not incur any expense until we find candidates who meet your qualifications. Our National Direct Placement Team will use its vast resources to find your ideal candidate, giving you peace of mind and allowing you to focus on your business.

Independent Contractor Compliance Programs One of the greatest challenges faced by companies is the strict adherence to policies and processes that diminish the risks of co-employment and the continuous education of customer representatives over the entire lifecycle of the IC’s assignment. The focus of Superior’s Independent Contractor Compliance Programs (ICCPs) has always been on providing risk mitigation by implementing standardized employment practices and safeguards.

the validity of claims of IC status Require any individual classified as an IC to be incorporated Require ICs to carry requisite levels of Insurance, including workers’ compensation and

professional liability coverage at limits sufficient to protect the interests of the customer ICs should also be required to provide the ICCP Provider and the customer with a Waiver of

Subrogation Ensure accurate invoicing and payments Provide guidance regarding the separation between ICs and employee activities
