Here is the list from Manor:

• Second grade Socktober event = ~500 pair of sock for the Open Door Mission

• Cangineering food drive - whole school - ~2000 cans of food to local food banks

• Winter wear drive - a carload of warm gear delivered to the Open Door Mission by four fifth graders who took

the lead on this one.

• Toys for Tots Toy drive - Spearheaded by Make a Difference Committee

• Fourth Grade jar wars for Hurricane Relief Funds (two students in Julie George's class initiated this) = ~$600

• Helping Hands - initiated by our school counselors in partnership with HFM Rotary - bought gifts, created food

baskets (18 Manor families) and delivered Christmas Trees & Christmas books (15 District families)

• Melinda Fleming's and Lisa Leonard's Classes are having a handmade craft fair to raise money for school

construction in El Papalon, Nicaragua.

• Students in multiple grades made holiday cards for our veterans. Over 200 cards were delivered to

Congressman Chris Collins.

• Hoa Tran's class Collected Teddy Bears and Books for the Rochester International Academy for refugee

students.

AnnouncementsHigh School (partial list

Silent Auction - Raised over $500. Proceeds go to the Unified Basketball teams as well as a charity once this year's teams are selected.

Food Drive for the Honeoye Falls Food Pantry - Items will be brought to the pantry this week.

Jar Wars Contest - Over $200 raised to be donated to the Wilmot Cancer Center. Three staff members: Mr. Sommers, Mr. Donohue, and Mr. Nelson will be wearing crazy costumes all day on Thursday because our jars received the 3 highest donation amounts.

Bivona Child Advocacy Center - Donors are contributing stuffed animals and books to be donated to the BivonaCenter.

Dodgeball Tournament - On January 6. Proceeding given to the Open Door Mission.

Winter Clothing Drive - After the holiday break. Collecting jackets, hats, gloves, and scarves to be donated to the Open Door Mission.

Angel Tree - Ryan Teeter and the Counseling Center have coordinated this effort to provide gifts for some needy families in our community.

HF-L Sister Cities Youth Group (Cathy Nye and Joan Haviland) - Their group put on a dinner for residents at the Ronald McDonald House.

"Little Hats, Big Hearts" - The HS Art Club (Kelly Recktenwald) will be crocheting hats for newborns to donate to the American Heart Association.

Select Chorus (Ken Goold) - Sang Christmas Caroles last Friday evening at Eastview Mall.

From Bernie

In regards to students giving back, the boy's and girl's cross country

running teams manned a water stop and helped at the finish for a 10k

trail race in Mendon to benefit the Mendon Foundation which takes care

of the Linear Trail that stretches from Victor to Rush.

The Girl's Cross Country Running team also helped out with the "Girl's

on the Run" program - joining the Manor school "Girls on the run" as

pacers for their on campus race, both setting a positive example - and

encouraging - the younger athletes.
