On behalf of the Benalla Auto Club and Winton Motor Raceway, we would like to welcome you to the exciting form of motorsport that is the Tankworld Australian Super Truck Nationals. After a massive year in 2009 for the Super Trucks, the staff of Winton with the surrounding community are excited about the return of the Super Trucks to the track in 2010. The Winton round of the Super Truck Series will also incorporate Super TT’s, Daewoo’s, and futureracers. This combination of support categories with the thrust of the Super Trucks will make for a massive weekend of full throttle and awesome racing. To add to the diversity of racing this weekend, Super Truck and Daewoo Cup events will be held on the 2.2km short circuit, whilst Super TT and Futureracer competitors will battle it out on the 3km National circuit. The organizing committee of today’s races has made every effort to ensure the safety of specta-tors at this meeting. In the interest of public safety , all areas other than official spectator areas are PHOHIBITED. The spectator areas are plainly defined and spectators are requested to keep behind safety fences at all times. In the event of an accident on the circuit, the public MUST remain behind the safety fences as their entry to the track may cause further accidents or hinder officials.

The fencing erected around the circuit is there for you protection. It is forbidden to sit, stand or climb on it.

In the interest of safety, dogs are not permitted at the raceway.

The Daewoo Cup is a unique category proudly presented to you by

Tampered Motorsport. Tampered Motorsport was developed by a

couple of mates looking to get into their cars and have a good time

– from that Tampered Motorsport has now gone from strength to

strength running track days at Winton Motor Raceway and

Wakefield Park in Goulburn, providing the opportunity to have fun in

your vehicle in a safe and controlled environment.

One of the major additions for Tampered Motorsport was the

purchase of 9 Daewoo Lanos racecars from the old Daewoo Race

Series, which are fully caged race cars and available for rent for

anyone wanting to get involved in motorsport. These are the cars

you will see over the weekend being pushed to their limits around

the track– the Daewoo Cup is sure to provide some great

entertainment!

SUPER TRUCKS

Rev up your Super Trucks engine!

Super Trucks and Light Trucks are both capable of speeds in excess

of 180km/h (113mph), enabling these mighty giants to thunder

down a quarter mile at approximately 12-13 seconds. While a Super

Truck is powered by up to 14,000cc, while the maximum engine

swept volume permitted of a Light Truck is 7,500cc.

The recreational use of trucks has produced an abundance of

environmental concerns, including noise and air pollution. To ensure

the future of this awesome sport the truck racing

fraternity and motorsport promoters are required to regularly revise

truck racing regulations. Winton Motor Raceway is

fortunate to be able to provide great truck racing and

entertainment without disrupting the surrounding natural

environment.

SUPER TT’S

The Super TT Series is for ‘Tin Top’ and sedan vehicles. There are

many varied sized and different configurations of vehicles

competing in this class offering affordable racing.

With a mix of Aussie favourites Holden’s and Ford’s, racing world

wide manufactured BMW’s, Volvo’s and Mazda’s, ranging from

V8’s to 4 cylinder turbos, Super TT is one of the most diverse

categories racing in Australian Motorsport.

Super TT events are conducted regularly at Benalla Auto Club

operated racings circuits at Winton (VIC) and Wakefield (NSW).

The 2010 Super TT championship series is based over 5 race

meetings at Winton Motor Raceway, including three rounds of the

Victorian Motor Racing Championship, the Tankworld Supertruck

Nationals and HQ 4 Hour Endurance. Please show your support for

These cars may be small but they produce big excitement.

All powered by 1 litre Yamaha motorcycle engines Futureracers

provide tight racing and due to their tiny size they are able to make

many passing maneuvers right around the 3 km track. Futureracers

are identically manufactured and assembled in Canberra, so it boils

down to the driver skill to cross the finishing line first.

The Futureracers National Series has been running for the past five

years with events held in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

CO-DRIVERS

What Is A Co-Driver?

The idea of including Co-Driver races in the truck racing program

came from the trucking industry in Australia. When hauling long

distances across Australia a co-driver is often employed to share the

driving. This concept was originally adopted to the Super Truck

format during the early years to encourage more people into the

sport, and now remains in the program as tradition.

A co-driver is often the team owner or a member of the teams

pit-crew who holds a racing licence, it is also a great opportunity for

drivers to gain experience before joining the big league.

The co-driver does not ride in the truck with the main driver during

the race, they are allocated their own races during the race

meeting, formally known as the Co-Drivers Cup.
