Shuffle the remaining non-herocards. This is the draw deck.
Start turning over the cards in thedraw deck, one at a time and resolv-ing them until you either reach theend of the deck and have won, oryour hero is dead.
Cards are resolved as follows. Notethat any text on the card takes pre-cedence to these rules:
Powers If your hero cannot use the power,simply discard it.
If it is in a power that your hero canuse, you must decide if you want touse up one of your power slots to
hold it.
You can discard an power you cur-rently hold if needed.
If it can be used immediately, such asa med kit, you do not have to have afree power slot to do so.
powers like this can also be storedin one of your power slots and usedat a later time as well.

GoalMake it through an entire patrol witha surviving hero.
Rules Pick one of the four super heroesthat you will use for the game.
Your starting vitality is shown onthe card. This is used for both your
health and your attack value.
Damage will drop your vitality and if itever reaches zero the game is over.Powers will modify your attack value
when determining the outcomes ofbattles, but they do not add to yourhealth.
For example, if your base vitality is 5,and you have taken 4 damage, 1 moredamage will end the game even if youhave a Power that adds 2 to your at-tack.
Pick one non-epic Power to start thegame with. Unless otherwise speci-
fied, your hero can only have twopowers.
Enemy Fight enemies by determining your at-tack and comparing it to the numberon the enemy card. To determine your attack, use yourbase vitality minus any damage youhave previously taken and then add
any modifiers from powers.If your number is higher, you win– discard the enemy card.
If your number is the same or low-er, you lose – place the enemy cardupside down next to your hero asdamage.
Place the cards representing damagein any way that makes it easy to read-ily determine how much vitality your
hero currently has.
Disaster Follow the instructions on the cardunless you have a hero or powerthat allows you to ignore disasters.
Campaign mode Play the next game with the powersthat you have at the end your lastgame.
