Online Apps using Gateway + OData:For simple and lightweight applications with constant connectionGateway Content provided through OData Protocol No use of Mobile Business Objects (MBOs)
Offline Apps using MBO:For complex and heavyweight applications with occasional connections (focus on data synchronization upon connection)Use of MBOs with connection profiles to– DOE Connector,– Web Services, Databases via JDBC or BAPI via JCO

Integration Certification Process*
1. Provider completes Technical Product Profile (TPP) document2. ICC reviews TPP and reaches mutual agreement on functional test cases3. Execute Technical Testing
1. Online applications:1. Verify deployment of MBOs on SUP server2. Verify configuration of connection profiles
2. Offline applications:1. Verify configuration of OData Connector on SUP server2. Verify Gateway Content on mobile device
4. Execute Functional Testing1. Validate successful execution of end-to-end scenario using mobile device 2. Verify backend data for consistency3. Verify data synchronization if offline capable
5. If Testing successful, certification is awarded 1. Else, schedule another test session to complete the failing scenario
