What is DegreeWorks?
• DegreeWorks is similar to the Academic Requirements but has more features. It is a web-based advisement tool which can be used as a guide towards students’ graduation.
• DegreeWorks matches students’ academic and course history against the degree requirements as defined in the College Catalog.
• It can provide guidance for future course selection.
• Counselors/Curriculum Chair can use the tool to evaluate students’ progress and alignment of their program of study to their academic & career goals.
Who has Access to DegreeWorks?
• All Students with a Academic Plan requirement date of Fall 2013 to the present has access to Degree Works.
What are the benefits of DegreeWorks?• Available via the web 24/7.
• View the placement testing scores for reading, writing and mathematics.
• Learn the degree requirements and identify the courses you must complete to earn your degree.
• Learn before you change your major officially, how the courses you have completed meet the new plan requirements.
• See how courses that you want to take in the future will apply to you degree requirements.
• Learn about the courses including description and pre/co-requisites for which you want to register.
How does my DegreeWorks audit differ from my transcripts?
• DegreeWorks is a computerized program that displays courses required and completed in the program plan.
• Your transcript is the official college record listing the courses taken each semester.
• DegreeWorks allows you to print an advisement transcript used strictly for advisement purposes.
• To obtain an official transcript you must request it from the Registrar’s Office or order one online for a fee of $10 per copy.
How do I access DegreeWorks?
1. Go to https://wes.degreeworks.suny.edu.
2. Choose Westchester from the drop down menu.
3. Select Login.
4. Enter your Network User Name and Password. (This is the same password that you use to access the portal.)
5. Select Sign In.

In-progress BlockThe Exception Management Process enables faculty,
counselors, chairs and deans the capability to request and/or
apply petitions and exceptions to a student’s audit. Faculty and
counselors are able to petition for a change while chairs and
deans can apply an exception directly to a student’s audit.
Students are encouraged to discuss all exemptions during the
advisement process.
