At LTHT
• 1 April 2012 to 31 Jan 2013 – 78 Declarations
• 1 February 2013 to 31 March 2014 – 258 Declarations
• Changes in the policy at LTHT
• Band 7 and above, all consultants – aligned to each
financial year, need to make a positive or nil declaration
• Gifts, hospitality and sponsorship
• Declaration of business interest (added this year)
NHS E - From 1 April 2016…• From 1 April 2016 - new requirement imposed on LTHT and our staff which is
set out within the new standard contract from NHS England to meet the
requirements of General Condition 27 Conflict of Interest.
• The electronic database holding the register of interests must be publically available and displayed on the Trusts
website
– The provider (LTHT) must ensure that, in delivering the services, all staff comply with the law, guidance and
good practice in relation to gifts, hospitality and other inducements and actual or potential conflicts of interest
– The provider (LTHT) must ensure that all staff promptly disclose to the provider (LTHT) full and accurate details
of;
• All gifts, hospitality or other inducements received by or offered to them on behalf of any manufacturer,
distributor or vendor of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumables or equipment of a type which is or
could be used in the delivery of the services and;
• Any other actual or potential conflict of interest on their part in relation to the delivery of services
• The provider (LTHT) must maintain and publish on its website an up to date register containing full and
accurate details of all such gifts, hospitality, inducements and actual or potential conflicts of interest

• Trust Screen Saver final week in June – prompt reminder
• Consultants – direct emails from Medical Director and will add
new prompt to electronic appraisal system (re PROBITY
questions)
• Disclosures from The Association of the British Pharmaceutical
