PREPARATIONDo Not Sand MDF. Based on the surface you’re using, if necessary, sand surface until smooth. Apply Multi Purpose Sealer and lightly sand again to knock down any raised grain.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONSBasecoat the surface Chalky Finish, Timeless. Using the Old French Script stencil and Fawn use irregular pressure to stencil onto background. This will give it a distressed look. Mark off for border. Basecoat the border in Burnt Sienna, making sure to paint down the sides too.

Trace on pattern and then shade around the pattern and all edges of the background with Fawn. Drybrush with Warm White. Shade again using a very light fl oat shade of Raw Sienna.

Shade around the border along the closest side to the background and where the sunfl ower touches the border with Heritage Brick.

All sunfl owers: refer to pictures for shading and highlighting.

Basecoat the petals with Moon Yellow. Shade True Ochre around the base of the petals. Shade with soft fl oats of Yellow Ochre to separate the petals. Highlight with Light Buttermilk along the outer petals where they touch the inner petals. Very softly shade again with Burnt Sienna. Drybrush in the center of the petals to help shape them with Warm White. Shade again with very soft fl oats of Heritage Brick.

Basecoat the centers with Raw Sienna. Shade around the edges with Burnt Umber. Drybrush in the center to highlight with Light Buttermilk. Deepen the shading with Asphaltum. Drybrush again with Warm White. Dot around the edges with Warm White and Lamp Black.

Basecoat the stems with Aloe. Shade along one side with Hauser Medium Green. Deepen shading with Midnite Green. Line the vines with Hauser Medium Green. Add a highlight line with Midnite Green.

Using the Earth Laughs stamp and Lamp Black, position on the board and using even pressure stamp onto surface.

FINISHINGSplatter the surface with Asphaltum. Then spray several coats of All Purpose Sealer allowing to dry between coats.
