The Greatest Gift

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of

angels, but have not love, I have become sounding

brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the

gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and

all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I

could remove mountains, but have not love, I am

nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to

feed the poor, and though I give my body to be

burned,[a]but have not love, it profits me nothing.

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy;

love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does

not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not

provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in

LEADER: For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.

CONG: For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

LEADER: For in fact the body is not one member but many.

CONG: If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?

LEADER: If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?

ALL: But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.

Special Giving Above Tithe and Offering

“The tenth shall be holy unto the Lord.” Leviticus 27:32

Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we, cheerfully give to God our tithes and offerings. Tithing honors God. Are you giving the Lord His tithes or your tips? The word tithe means to give back to God one tenth of your earnings for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world.

Keenan Ivory Wayans - (June 8, 1958)

An American actor, comedian, filmmaker, and a member of the Wayans

Family of entertainers. He first came to prominence as the host and co-creator

of the 1990–1994 sketch comedy series In Living Color. He has produced,

directed and/or written a large number of films, starting with Hollywood Shuffle, which

he co-wrote, in 1987. A majority of these films have included him and one or more of his

brothers and sisters in the cast. One of these films, Scary Movie (2000), which Wayans

directed, and at one time, was the highest-grossing movie ever directed by an African

American. From 1997 to 1998, he hosted the talk show The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show.

In the past few years he was a judge for the eighth season of Last Comic Standing.

Red Foxx - (December 9, 1922 – October 11, 1991)

Born John Elroy Sanford, Red Foxx was an American comedian and actor,

best remembered for his explicit comedy records and his starring role on

the 1970s sitcom Sanford and Son. Foxx gained notoriety with his raunchy

nightclub acts during the 1950s and 1960s. Known as the "King of the

Party Records", he performed on more than 50 records in his lifetime. He also starred in

Sanford, The Redd Foxx Show and The Royal Family. His film roles included All the Fine

Young Cannibals (1960) and Harlem Nights (1989). In 2004, Comedy Central Presents:

100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time ranked Foxx as the 24th best stand-up comedian. Foxx

not only influenced many comedians, but was often portrayed in popular culture as well,

mainly as a result of his famous catchphrases, body language and facial expressions

exhibited on Sanford and Son.

look, I'm dedicated to the laughs.”

Bernie Mac - (October 5, 1957 – August 9, 2008)

Born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough in Chicago, IL, Bernie Mac was an actor

and comedian. Growing up in a large family on Chicago's South Side, his grandfather was

the deacon of a Baptist church in Chicago. Mac performed his first standup routine at the

age of eight, impersonating his grandparents at the dinner table for the church

congregation. After losing his mother to cancer (his brother, father and grandmother died

not long after), Mac realized the healing power of laughter. He began telling jokes for

spare change in the Chicago subway. While working various odd jobs, he eventually

established his own weekly variety show at Chicago's Regal Theatre and joined the

comedy club circuit in 1977. However his biggest success was The Bernie Mac Show,

which debuted in 2001 to instant acclaim. However, soon after the series ended, Mac's

health took a turn for the worse. He developed sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease which

causes inflammation in the lungs. On August 9, 2008, after weeks of unsuccessful

treatments, Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was 50.
