Sunday School Class Directory

Nursery (Infant - 2 yrs) [ROOM: 111] In our nursery we offer a safe, Christ centered, learning environment. When you entrust us with your children you can rest assure that they will be well cared for and taught all about God’s love for them.

Toddler (2-3 yrs) [Room: 110] This class is for children who are ready for a bit more structure and instruction than the nursery, but still enjoy to play. In our class we play games, have snacks, do crafts, and have an inspiring Bible lesson that centers on how we can experience Jesus’ love and share it with others. No need to be potty trained yet.

Beginner 1 (3-4 yrs) [room: 115] Teachers: Sherry McLeod, Lisa & Tim Carter Children LOVE coming to the Beginner 1 class every week, and we love our students. Because of Mrs. Sherry’s Bible stories, our engaging crafts, and all the fun we have while we are together no one wants to leave. The most precious part of our class is our prayer time. Each child is given the opportunity to say a little prayer; whatever they want to talk to God about. These sweet prayers range from ‘Thanking God for a new baby in their family’ to ‘Thanking God for super-hero costumes’.

Beginner 2 (K5-1st Grade) [room: 216] Teachers: Shelby Langley Our Sunday school class is full of energy and excitement. We experience Jesus in such a way that each child gains an eagerness to learn more about Jesus. Each week we are challenged to go out after church and find someone who we can tell about what we learned in class. Our hope is that each of our students gain new insight into the love of Jesus in a way in which they feel a deep desire to share that love with their friends. It’s the path of making disciples who make disciples.

Primary I (2nd-3rd Grade) [room: 223] Teachers: Lois Stripling & Charlene Parker Our students absolutely love coming to class. We begin each week with snacks as the students talk about their week’s adventures. We play games, hear thrilling Bible stories, memorize Scripture, and learn how to live Godly lives. Our hope is that each student leaves with their hearts absolutely filled with God and His love.

Junior Boys and Girls (4th-5th Grade) [room: 205] Teachers: Elyse Loudenbarger & Beth Barnhill We are a friendly group representing a diverse list of schools in the area. We would love to have you join us on Sunday mornings! Class time consists of challenging lessons that delve beyond the typical Sunday School story. Our aim is to enrich the Christian walk of students who want to grow spiritually. We also like to have fun! Each week students can earn points for memorizing their Bible Verse, completing devotionals, attendance, and more. Prizes are awarded at the end of each month to those with the most points. We want to encourage our students to take the initiative to spend time with Jesus. Come visit us and see if this class is the right fit for you. Hope to see you soon!

Teen Boys and Girls (6th-12th Grade & College) [room: 208] Teachers: Ti Barnhill & Stephen Swails This is a place where everyone is welcome and you can be you. You'll grow life-long friendships with some of the coolest people around and experience the most fun you can imagine. Most importantly, you'll grow in an eternal relationship with God through Jesus the Christ. Here you will discover the Bible; its content, context and modern applications. You’ll discover how to study it on your own, and how to use it to discern the truth in your culture and media. Our hope is that you leave our class with a challenged and encouraged spirit that overflows into others throughout your week. Come upstairs and give us a try. You’ll be so glad you did.

Servant’s Heart (Young Adults Age 18+) [room: 214] Teachers: Louis Hatcher, Brent Langley, Mitch Summerell, & Brian Czerw The Servant’s Heart Class stands for serving others in the love of Christ. We desire to share and spread that love by being His hands and feet. Our class values the importance of family and growing in our faith, while being Godly examples for our children & peers. It is our goal to not only study the Bible, but to live out what we learn in class. We cherish the relationships we’ve formed over the years and consistently give our time and money to further the vision of the Servant’s Heart Class.

Joy (Women of all ages) [room: 131] Teachers: Rena Brewer & Debra Phelps The JOY Women’s Sunday school class is designed around women of all ages to have the weekly opportunity to delve into God’s Word together and form meaningful friendships. Our class is open to women of all ages and walks of life, from young adults to seniors, from single to married to widowed. Our heart’s desire is intense Bible study that produces spiritual growth and we aim to promote fellowship, accountability, Christ-like service to others, and faithfulness to worship. You are welcome and wanted in the Joy Class! Please join us!

Fisher’s of Men (Adults age 40+) [room: 130] Teacher: Luis Vazquez, Pete Holt, & Jimmy Murphy. We have 3 main goals: Bible Study, Biblical Application, & Serving. Our hope is to bring the Word of God to bear out in our lives. To, as they say “Put feet on the Gospel.” And we use a broad range of study material to achieve our goals. We also challenge our members to get plugged into their life of the church. In fact, most of our class members are actively involved in the many ministry opportunities of our church. We invite you to join us and get plugged in too!

Discipleship (Adults age 45+) [room: 119] Teachers: Rev. Billy D Hanna, Gerald Dixson, John Bentkowski, & Gary Starr Background: Our members are representative of our community: men and women from all stages of life, race, professions, married, unmarried, parents & grandparents. The Course of Study: Always committed to teaching the Bible verse by verse, and making it applicable to our lives. This adventure covers the New Testament and selective Old Testament books. We also do an occasional Topical study. Teachers: This Class is taught by excellent, qualified, experienced teachers, all of whom are formally trained. The Lead Teacher is the Pastor. The Atmosphere of the Class: Is light, warm, relaxed, friendly, caring and very personable. We care about the individual and their needs. Coffee is available every Sunday. Through our weekly offering we support one of our missionaries, from our Church, that are serving in Berlin, Germany. Fellowship: We promote fellowship within and outside of our class. We have frequent class parties. The Attraction of the Discipleship Class: Good, solid Biblical teaching for life application. Varied adult age group and background. Light, friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

K&K (Adults age 50+) [room: choir suite] Teachers: Calvin Ormerod, & Bill BushmanIn the K&K class we are passionate about loving our neighbors as ourselves, having faith in God, and passing that on to all we come into contact with.Our weekly goal is to study the Scriptures and further the ministry of Jesus through teaching, witnessing, prayer and fellowship. Building relationships and fellowshipping together are very important to us. We plan outings regularly to meet at restaurants and at people’s homes. We pride ourselves on the love we have for each other exhibited by our gatherings and earnest prayers for each other when there is a need. The yearly highlight for our class is our Christmas Party during which we have an auction (loads of fun & frivolity!) to raise funds for missions and outreach projects. Most of our class are part of the "PrimeTimers" group (ages 60 & above) who participate in service projects within the Church. We visit church members, make calls to those that are home-bound, and send cards/notes of encouragement to shut-ins and those who may have not been in Church for some time. Age is only a number and there is still plenty of work left to be done. If you are ready to roll your sleeves up and get involved in the the Lord’s work, then join us. Remember "Nothing Is Impossible With God!”

Christian Laborers (Adults Age 65+) [room: 127] Teachers: Dr’s. Irvin & Lucy Hyman, & Judy RountreeWe are PrimeTimers, a delicate way of saying senior citizens, but still very young at heart and eager to serve our Lord in whatever capacity He chooses. We are a loving class and sincerely care for our Lord, church, class members, friends, neighbors, and anyone God puts before us. In our class, we study God’s Word for deeper understanding because we are still growing spiritually. The spreading of the gospel, and supporting those who share God’s Word at home and abroad is important to us. We have a heart for service, and take pride in serving our Lord and Savior; some as deacons, teachers, members of the benevolence committee, hospitality committee, sending cards, and praying for others, just to name a few. Because we are the senior group, we pride ourselves in setting an example for the church of how to face adversity bravely. It’s like the energizer bunny. We just keep on going, or the Timex watch, that takes a licking and keeps on ticking. We sincerely invite you to come join our class for loving fellowship and to share a meal or two! God Bless You!!
