Sunday, October 25, 2015 Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time REMINDER: When we gather to share the Eucharist, we gather to share our needs, our prayers, and our thanks. At the time of Offertory, you will notice that the basket is passed from person to person. Each person is asked to touch the basket as a sign of placing their lives, their prayers, and their thanksgivings together with those of all that share in that Celebration. Each person passes the basket to the next person as a sign of unity in faith, hope, and love. The ushers will begin a basket in the front of each section, walk halfway back to start a second basket, and wait there until the first basket reaches them. The ushers asked during their annual review, “What if they (the congregants) do not pass the basket?” I said, “God or Father will have to go and get it.” We are always looking for additional people to help with the various ministries. God calls each of us to share our gifts and talents. Fr. Michael R. Schneider, Pastor Nicole Fuhrer, Development Director I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Board of Directors for their amazing stewardship of their time, talents, and treasure in support of our Foundation. We continue to make great strides in building our financial strength in support of Catholic Education here in Mitchell. This does not happen without the leadership and wisdom of many hearts and hands. I especially would like to thank Jeff Smith, who is stepping down from our board after MANY years of faithful discipleship. I would also like to welcome and give thanks to our newest board member, Mike LeBrun. Mike was installed at our Annual Meeting this past week. I have no doubt he will bring invaluable insight to our board. Please continue to prayer for our Foundation and our mission to Protect the Future of Catholic Education here in Mitchell! Dear Lord, I am your instrument. I love and trust you. This work is not mine, it is Yours. Use me as you see fit. Amen! John Paul II School News Robin Cahoy, Principal — 996-2365

We are so blessed at John Paul II to be able

to pray with our students. Feel free to join us at

8:30am on Monday in the church to pray the

Chaplet of Divine Mercy. It is so touching to watch and listen as

the youngest to the oldest of our school family gathers to pray this

wonderful prayer in honor of our Blessed Mother Mary.

Come one and all to the October Family Dance! The PTO will

be sponsoring this fun Halloween evening on Saturday, Oct. 24,

from 6:00-8:30 in the John Paul II School Gym. Please remember

this is a family evening so each child must be accompanied by an

adult. There will be a free-will offering at the door.

Our Student Council’s activity for October is for

the students to donate items for the patients receiving

treatment at the Cancer Center in Mitchell. Some of

the items include chapstick, hard candy, word puzzle

books, Sudoku books, and lotion.

How about some fresh, warm, chewy cookies to

share with your families? Our students are selling

Classic Cookie Collections. In addition to many

varieties of cookie dough, there are also soup

mixes, dip mixes, desserts, and soy candles.

Please call the office if you would like to “stock

up” for the upcoming holiday season! These boxes/tubs of frozen

cookie dough and other awesome treats will be sold by our

students and staff through November 6. Please call the school

office if you wish to purchase any of these wonderful snacks!

When you have a chance, check out all the photos on John Paul

II’s Facebook page of our many activities taking place at school!

—Blessings, Mrs. Robin Cahoy
