The Prayer Ministry team and others have prayed every day since the search began, and we invite every parishioner to join in these prayers, thanking God and asking for wisdom through our transition.

It will be led by Grant Skeldon of The Initiative Network and Canon J. John, advisor to the Archbishop of Canterbury on Evangelism. Members of the Altar Guild honored Directress Angie Howell at its annual dinner May 20 and officially welcomed Frances Tompkins as Directress for 2016 -2017. Angie was presented with the specially-designed Altar Guild Cross. Frances introduced her team captains and announced that the year’s theme would be “Serving God and Each Other.” Carol Hill was named Altar Guild Directress-designate for 2017 – 2018.

The Saint Michael’s Farmers Market continues to attract the top local vendors offering some of the area’s best produce, meat and eggs, and homemade food products every Saturday morning. There’s always a new recipe using the market’s products. The market also collects shoes for The Shoe Bank and men’s clothing for One Man’s Treasure. The market is open Saturday’s from 8:00 to 12:00 Noon in the north parking lot.

Summer Sunday School Starts Next Sunday, June 5

Faith and LiteratureGet ready for Summer Sunday School beginning next week. The popular Faith and Literature returns with Interim Rector Doug Travis launching the series in Saint Michael Chapel with the book, Falling Upward by Richard Rohr.

Family Summer Sunday SchoolChildren, Youth and their Families will meet in the Coke Activities Room to learn about various ministries at Saint Michael, and create cards and banners depicting the ministries. The Rev. Hunter Ruffin will kickoff the series talking about the mission trip to Cuba leaving June 7.

All Summer Sunday School classes begin at 10:00.
