How can I become a member of The Church at Sugar Creek?
One of the most exciting moments in the life of The Church at Sugar Creek is the addition of new members to our family! We gladly receive those who have been transformed by the power of the Gospel and believe in their heart that this is the place for them to continue their Christian journey. Our pastor stands ready to receive your request at the end of this service. For those seeking a new life in Christ, he is thrilled to pray with you and for you!
There are four important steps to ensure you’re getting a great start to membership. First, you will complete a request for membership (you can do that today). This will help us set up a meeting for you with one of our ministers to learn how God is at work in your life and home. Then you will be invited to attend one of our 4th Sunday Discovery Gatherings (4:00 PM) sponsored by our ACTS Team. This gathering will help you learn more about the Sugar Creek family, and finally you will be presented to the church for affirmation and celebration!

Welcome to the Church at Sugar Creek! We are glad you are here to celebrate and worship the Lord Jesus with us. This month I am preaching from Psalm 127. There we are reminded of the sovereign activity of God in the affairs of man. We began two weeks ago by speaking an old German proverb in agreement with the principles of the psalmist, “Everything depends on the blessing of God.”
Today we will focus on verse 2 that says; “It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.” English Standard Version
God in laying out the demands of faith to the children of Israel, reiterated a principle He Himself established during creation. On the seventh day He rested. His instructions to the Jews included Sabbath rest. Today we will see how rest and faith fit the truth that “Everything depends on the blessing of God.” I am glad you are here!
Please remember that next Sunday morning we will officially launch “The Church at Sugar Creek, a ministry of First Baptist. “ As a part of the celebration we will enjoy a neighborhood lunch to which all of you are invited. The menu and reservation instructions can be found on our website www.sugarcreek.church/events, or by calling the church office at 784-1883 during regular office hours. You may also reserve your spot by coming by one of the welcome centers following today’s service.
Also, January 31 is the last day to sign up for the exciting Valentines Couples Getaway to Nashville, TN. On Saturday, we will board the “murder mystery train” bound for Watertown, TN. Information is on the website. Happy Winter!
On Sundays, join your Life Group at 9:30 AM and at 10:30 AM worship with our family of faith.
