Please remember Blessed Sacrament when preparing or changing your will.
From the Pastor’s Desk: Dear parishioners:
In the Roman Missal there is a section titled “Masses for Various Needs and Occasions.” Among the collection of these Masses are some rarely used ones, particularly “For the Election of a Pope.” While it is rather obvious “why” this is rarely used, for the next several weeks (or maybe longer) it will be “common.” The Collect Prayer may be one which we used during our own private prayer as well: O God, eternal shepherd, who govern your flock with unfailing care, grant in
your boundless fatherly love a pastor for your Church who will please you by his holiness and to us show watchful care.
In addition, we will sing a hymn invoking the Holy Spirit during our Sunday Liturgy that such graces will be upon the Cardinal-electors and upon the entire Church as well. And while His Holiness Benedict XVI retains as a courtesy many of the external elements of the Office of the Bishop of Rome, there will not be a name of the Pope inserted into the Eucharistic Prayer until the next Bishop of Rome is elected. I once again thank those who have thus far participated in Our Catholic Appeal for 2013. Our parish goal is $241,308 and the mission goal is $6062. 583 households of Blessed Sacrament have thus far pledged $172,642 and 71 households of the Mission have pledged $9,312. As always, the Bishop and I thank you for your generous support of the Diocese and parish.
Stations of the Cross are on Friday at 6:00pm followed by a soup supper and “Soup Talk”, a simple discussion on the basic tenets of our Catholic faith.
We continue to pray for those who are preparing for Easter Sacraments. May these days of Lent be for them, and us, a great chance to being life anew!

ADORATION: Jesus hides His immense glory, beauty and dignity in the Blessed Sacrament because he wants us to come to Him in faith that we may love Him for Himself. "Come to me all of you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will refresh you." (Mt. 11:28) Eucharistic Adoration is simply our response to Jesus' love for us, whereby each of us is willing to spend a quiet holy hour of prayer in His Eucharistic Presence once a week on a regular basis.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL For our people, our ministries, our future.
GROW ● LEAD ● SHARE
OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL To make your pledge online, please visit:
www.cfocf.org/OCA/give
Our Catholic Appeal is much different than a one-time special collection. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift, payable over ten months, that makes a real difference in the lives of the people of our Diocese. A significant gift to the Appeal will touch the lives of many people in a very positive way. Our Catholic Appeal provides critical funding for the many programs and ministries of the diocese. To learn more about these services, please read the brochure you received in the packet from Bishop Noonan or visit www.cfocf/oca. As you review the good work enabled by your gifts to Our Catholic Appeal, please reflect on God’s gifts to you. He has given you all that you have. Your gifts to our parish, to the diocese, and to the work of the Church throughout the world should be given in gratitude for the continuing gifts that God gives you. If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back or bring it to Mass with you next weekend. For those of you that did not receive a mailing or have not had time to respond to it, envelopes will be available at all Masses and you may place your completed envelopes in the offering basket. Our parish goal is $241,308 and our mission goal is $6062 for a total of $247,370. Once we have met our goal, the overage will be returned to our parish to support our own parish/mission needs. To all of our “veteran” pledgers, thank you for your prayerful and generous support, and for our “first timers,” thank you for your consideration of joining in our annual Diocesan Appeal. Instructions: Enter your name and address on the Catholic Appeal Envelope. If you have moved within the last year, put a √ by your address. Even if you can only pledge a little, or not at all, it is important to fill out an envelope so that you won’t receive follow-up letters in the future.
Enter the total amount you would like to pledge. If you are putting a check or cash in the envelope, that is your down payment. Please enter the amount that is enclosed in the envelope under Down Payment. Subtract the amount that you placed in the envelope from the Total Pledged for the Remaining Balance.
Credit Card Gifts: If you are making a Credit Card Gift, please be sure to fill out the information on the reverse of the envelope.
Online Gifts: To give a gift online, please visit our website at www.CFOCF.org/OCA and click on “Donate now”. Thank you for your generosity, and please remember that your gift will be credited to our parish's 2013 Appeal goal.
Please be generous and support the parish
and the diocesan ministries with your gift.

Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one's needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices, are allowed. Abstinence is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of abstinence no meat is allowed. Note that when heath or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fast and abstinence, the parish priest should be consulted. Fasting, almsgiving, and prayer are the three traditional disciplines of Lent. The faithful and catechumens should undertake these practices seriously in a spirit of penance and of preparation for baptism or of renewal of baptism at Easter.
