FROM THE DESK OF ADMINISTRATOR, BOB LAUX
MESSAGE FROM THE DEPUTY GRAND REGENT-Deborah Kelsey I would like to thank the members of the Loyal Order of Moose 2290 and Women of the Moose Chapter 1998 who attended the wonderful dinner in my honor on Saturday, May 17, 2014. You guys made me feel very special. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate my honor of being the Deputy Grand Regent with all of you wonderful Brothers and Sisters of the Moose. We are like one big Happy Family. (For those who were not there, you missed a great time, one that will probably not happen again anytime soon). Thank you goes out to Ronnie and Myndie Board for the GREAT DINNER they cooked. I hope everyone there enjoyed it as much as I did. I would also like to thank the Ladies who waited on all the tables, you worked very hard and did an awesome job. Thank you’s go out to all the Co-workers who donated the goodies for the appetizers and dessert table. They were very YUMMY. Special thank you to Betty Kassman for the delicious cake. It was too pretty to cut up, but it sure was good. Thank you Betty. Thank you goes out to Mike Stewart for the favors. They were very clever and took someone a lot of time to make them (tasted good too). Thank you Sheryl Watts for the great center pieces, they were awesome. Thanks Russ Whalley for the great music. Thank you to Rose, Melissa, Annie, Lisajo and Dorie who put a lot of time and effort into organiz-ing this event. Where do I start, you are the Best of the Best! I will be grateful to you forever. I feel very honored to have you all as true friends. I would just like to say Thank You to all who helped with whatever they did. You know who you are. I hope I didn’t miss anyone. Together, you all put on ONE HELL OF A DINNER. One I will never forget. My hat is off to each and every one of you. Again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
We are all happy to see our new Governor, Kevin Hyland, back on his feet. Kevin had a heart attack on the evening he returned from the Mid-Year Conference in White Plains. After surgery, he is slowly recovering and improving every day. He will be back running the Lodge programs soon.
Any member interested in being certified, or recertified, as a server of alcohol, can sign up to take the course. Which will be on Wednesday, June 25th at 6pm at the Family Center. A signup is a must, we are limited to 40 attendees. Course will be offered by the Monroe County Sheriffs Department.
The 11th District of NYSMA is having a drawing for a 60” 1080 G.E. color TV (value $1,098.00). Tickets are available at the Social Quarters at $1.00 each. Proceeds will be used to defray the cost of the District Picnic at Canandaigua, on Sunday, July 20th. The picnic is FREE to all Moose members. Why not plan on attending?
Our Jamboree Committee has tickets available for one of two 4 burner propane grills with a side burner, 48,000 btu. The grills were donated by Meister Plumbing and the proceeds will be used towards the donations to Mercy Flight Central.
The Pavilion still has a lot of open dates for having family gatherings. It has tables, chairs, grill and even outside toilets, all included for a donation of only $50.00. You have to fill out a Family Activity form for approval and availability.
Remember, June 30th is the cut off date for the R. Robert Dale Scholarship applications. If you have a family member that is a Junior (class of 2015) that could use a $1,000.00 scholarship, their name has to be submitted to Moose International along with signatures, including the Lodge Administrator or Chapter Recorder. More information and the application are on the Moose web-site (mooseintl.org) or it can be picked up at the Family Center.
Have a great Summer. Thanks to all our volunteers who keep our Family Center running smoothly.

HOSTESS CHAPTER FOR
CONVENTION IN ALBANY
Hellooo Co-workers,
I have the honor to have been named Deputy Grand Regent for all of New York State. As part of my duties, I will be set-ting up, and running the Conventions for New York State. The first one was in White Plains, NY, April 24-27, 2014.
The second one is in Albany in August. Genesee Valley Henrietta, Chapter 1998, will be the Hostess Chapter in Albany. It will be from Thursday through Sunday, August 21-24, 2014. The Co-workers from our Chapter have al-ready started working on some of the things that need to be done for Albany. But, we need a number of Co-workers to help.
If you would like to be a part of the team who will be going to Albany to take on this task, please let me know, or one of the Board of Officers. We will be setting up rides to and from Albany.
Any questions you may have about this trip, please, feel free to give me a call at 585-486-4895.
Let’s show the rest of New York State what a GREAT CHAPTER we have.

Happy June Everyone!
I can’t believe May is over already. What a great first month we had. Our Installations went very well. Thank you Ladies for being there with me to make great things happen this year.
On May 17th, we had a great evening of fun, food and entertainment to honor our very own Deputy Grand Regent, Deborah Kelsey. She has put forth a great deal of time and effort to make New York State shine. I can’t think of anyone who deserves this more than Debbie. You are our ROCK!
The dinner was awesome. Thanks to Ron Board and his crew of helpers. Thank you goes out to each and every one of you for the awesome job you all did.
I will be holding a Committee Chair Meeting on June 7th at 12 noon in the upstairs room. Please plan on attending. There will be lots of information to bring forth.
Don’t forget our joint fundraiser with Lifetime Assistance, the Craft and Bake Sale that is being held on July 12th in the Pavilion. We could use as much help as possible. We will be serving Hot Dogs ($2.00) and Soda ($1.00) and all of the proceeds will be split 50/50 between Lifetime Assis-tance and the Women of the Moose. Our proceeds will be deposited into our Convention Fund. If you have crafts or would like to make baked goods to sell, please feel free. Remember, all pro-ceeds will be donated to help two great organizations.
Let us not forget the Albany Convention. August 21st through August 24th. Genesee Valley Henrietta is the host Chapter for this Convention. We need to show them what we are made of. Anyone who would like to help man tables or anything else that needs to be done, please let me know.
I would like everyone to bring your favorite Appetizer Recipe. Make copies to share with the group. We will be doing a WOTM Tastings at a future Activity Night Meeting.
I look forward to seeing some of you at the Family Center. I am excited to get to know more of the wonder-ful ladies and gentlemen that make our Lodge and Chapter what it is.
Your Senior Regent, Linda M. Wilkinson

RED WINGS FUNDRAISER
We will again be volunteering at the Red Wings Baseball games this Summer with the Concessions. We receive a percentage of the profits and this has been a lucrative fundraiser in the past several years for our organization. This year the WOTM will be only volunteering at the Pop-N-Hots Concession Stand. We will need 8 people to volunteer their time for each event. You will be given a polo shirt too and a visor to wear for this event. The usual time to “start” is 5:30pm and the stand ends usually by 9:30pm (some days sooner). You will be given a small “stipend” to use for your dinner and reimbursement for your parking.
