The film has Nayanthara playing the hero- ine. It is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja. Just a few days ago came Sivakarthikeyan’s production venture Kanaa, that featured him in an extend- ed cameo. The latest news is that the actor would start shooting for his movie to be directed by PS Mi- thran of Irumbuthirai fame from February. The makers are planning a release this August. The movie is bankrolled by RD Raja’s 24 AM Studios with KJR Studios, who successfully dis- tributed Ajith starrer Viswasam recently. | NT Bureau | T he audio of Cheran’s directorial Thirumanam will take place tomorrow. Prominent film personali- ties will be attending the event. Much recently, the motion poster of Thirumanam was released by actor Dhanush recently on social media and it received an overwhelming response. The director is back after a hiatus with a feel-good emotional drama. Thambi Ramaiah’s son Umapathy plays the lead role in the film which also has Sukanya, MS Baskar, Bala Saravanan, Kavya and Manobala in pivotal roles. Besides these actors, Cheran also plays a key character in the film. Speaking at the launch event, Cheran said that he lost money in the C2H and was down for a few years. ‘But I met a lot of people around that time which helped me know more about life. A single announce- ment from Vijay Sethupathi saying that he would do a film with me actually relaxed my financial situa- tion. The money-lenders got confidence that I will return their money back.’ Siddharth Vipin is composing the music for the film and Rajesh Yadav has cranked the camera. She will be apt for the role and they had even narrated the script.’ Her character is inspired by a woman who played a huge part in scientist Nambi Narayanan’s life. An official confirmation would be made soon. Rocketry is all about how the nation wronged a talented ISRO scientist who was charged with espionage in 1994. To be held at YMCA Grounds in Nandanam, the event will see who’s who from Indian film industry come together under one roof. TFPC chief Vishal and team have personally invited Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. They have confirmed their participation too. On 2 Fenruary, actors and actresses will shake their legs on stage for com- positions of Ilayaraja while on the next day, the maestro will perform live. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the conduct of the event. ‘It is our privilege to honour Ilayaraja, who entertains uis for over four decades with his music,’ said Vishal. He added, ‘Personally, we all felt the need to adore and acclaim a wizard, who has been a a part of our lives. In fact, his music has been my friend in all situations of my life. Even when I was arrested recently over the issue of TFPC issue, I listened only Ilayaraja music. It has emerged the the most- watched Tamil video song by beating Vijay’s’Aalaporaan Tamizhan from Mersal. Aalaporan Thamizhan had crossed nearly 91.4 million views, Rowdy Baby has clocked in more than 95 million views so far. The songs was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Prabhu Deva is the choreographer. Rowdy Baby was written and sung by Dhanush with Dhee. Foot-tapping steps by Sai Pallavi and Dhanush have been received well by fans. Maari 2 was directed by Balaji Mohan. It also featured Tovino Thomas, Krishna and Robo Shankar in key roles. The movie was released last December. AJITH WILL DO TWO FILMS FOR BONEY KAPOOR | NT Bureau | T here were speculations that Ajith would soon act in a movie to be produced by KJR Studios, who distributed Viswasam suc- cessfully. However Ajith’s publicist has clarified the reports. He tweet- ed, ‘Mr Ajith Kumar has committed for two films with Mr Boney Kapoor until mid 2020. Speculations on him signing films with other production companies are incorrect. Kindly do not encourage speculations.’ Ajith is first working in Pink remake and it would be directed by H Vinoth Kumar. It will be followed by another film for the production house. Meanwhile Ajith’s Pongal release Viswasam is doing good at the box office. Produced by Sathyajothi Thiyagarajan, Viswasam was directed by Siruthai Siva.
