I think one of the most telling remarks about our church at last

Wednesday night’s meeting about the property next door, was when two members of Harrington Construction turned to me and said, “I really like this church!” Both were impressed by the openness of the discussion, by the spirit which was present, and by the respect the members showed to one another. I was mighty pleased that this church could still be salt and light even when discussing an issue which led to deeply felt convictions from both viewpoints.

Our church voted to purchase the property at 7202 N. Kings Highway last week. The vote was 123-21 or 85% in favor. Very quickly, we will be putting together plans for a financial campaign. You will be notified as we move along.

One of the Initiative Team members, Ray Allen, said that this church owes thanks to the charter members who had the foresight to step out in faith and follow the Lord’s leadership to establish a church on the north end of Myrtle Beach. Their faith and financial support has brought us to this point in time. Now is the time for the present generation to step out in faith and support this next level of growth and ministry. The generations to come will thank you, too.

A couple of charter members were excited about what the church voted to do. One said to me, “This feels like when we voted to build on this site!” Another one said, “People said they were afraid because of the economy. Let me tell you, it was scary when we voted to build this room we are in now! There weren’t that many of us.” (The Fellowship Hall was the first Sanctuary.)

The reality is that the times or conditions are never “just right” to take a step of faith, but stepping out in faith to follow the Lord is always “just right.”
