LITURGY CORNERLife can seem ungrateful and not always kind Life can pull at your heartstrings & play withyour mind. Life can be blissful and happy andfree. Life can put beauty in the things that yousee Life can place challenges right at your feet.

Life can make good of the hardships we meet. Life canoverwhelm you and make your head spin. Life can rewardthose determined to win. Life can be hurtful and always fair.Life can surround you with people who care. Life clearly doesoffer its up and its downs. Life’s days can bring you bothsmiles and frowns. Life teaches us to take the good with thebad. Life is a mixture of happy and sad SO... Take the Lifethat you have and give it your best. Think positive, be happylet God do the rest. Take the challenges that life has laid atyour feet. Take pride and be thankful for each one you meet.To yourself give forgiveness if you stumble and fall. Take thelove that you’ve given and return it with care Have faith thatwhen needed it will always be there. Take time to find thebeauty in the things that you see. Take life’s simple pleasureslet them set your heart free. This idea here is simply to eventhe score. As you are met and faced with life’s tug of war. Have a blessed week! Lisa

FAITH AT HOME

Matthew helps us to understand that Jesusdoes not make new laws. Rather, he brings usto a new vision based on love for God andothers. This radical shift in the freedom to

choose out of love is only possible through the infinitecapacity of God’s grace and our potential for wisdom. Adults: How does Jesus’ new law of love move me to adeeper understanding of the commandments? Children:How will I act out of love for God and others this week? A Family Perspective: Families have rules. Without rules, family life would be chaos. As a family, brainstorm a list ofrules that you are all called to follow in your home inorder for you all to get along together. Think about rulesfor play time, rules for eating, rules for how to speak toone another, rules for going out with friends, and so on.Emphasize that families follow rules as a way of showinglove and respect for one another. Explain that in thisSunday’s Gospel, Jesus talks about following the Law.Say: God’s Law of love can be thought of as rules thatwe are to follow in order to show our love and respect forone another. Read aloud this Sunday’s Gospel, Matthew5:17–37. Talk specifically with one another about howanger is to be dealt with in your family. May you and yourfamily have a wonderful and blessed week! Lisa
