Who is Sundale?We are the most successful community initiative on

the Sunshine Coast, and perhaps within Australia.

Sundale provides a range of services to the community, inclusive of aged care, rehabilitation services, community and child care.

Within Sundale, over 500 team members provide care andsupport to 473 residents in our aged care facilities, over

390 village residents, 180 people in their own homes, andover 300 community clients in our Sundale Therapy Centre.

At EDEN we have another 60 team membersproviding over 10,000 days of inpatient care plus outpatient

services per year.

What Atlassian Products do we use ?Through Atlassian’s generous donation and commitment to

community, Sundale is currently using:

• JIRA

• Confluence

• Crowd

• Greenhopper

We are hoping to use more of Atlassian fine products in the near future.

We have used the extensible framework of the Atlassian products to improve our processes and communication across our organisation.

Aged Care Statistics• In 2007 Australia's population was 21 million people, with 13% being 65 years or older.

• The proportion of people aged 65 and over is projected to grow from 13 per cent of the total population in 2005 to over 23 per cent in 2035, that is from 2.7 million older Australians in 2005 to 6.2 million in 2035; and to over 26 per cent (7.5 million) in 2055.

• A person aged 70 has a 36 per cent chance of needing high-level aged care during his/her life.

• About 60 per cent of high-level care residents enter from hospital, 4.5 per cent from low-level care, and 35.5 per cent direct from the community.

• The average length of stay is 34.4 months, with 37 per cent of people staying less than 1 year, and 20 per cent staying more than 5 years.

How do we use Atlassian products ?

Currently we use Atlassian products in approximately 25 different ways

Here’s just a few…

• Incident Management System for Staff, Vendors, Resident and Elders capturing vital information such as medication incidents, falls

• As a Feedback system for staff, public, residents and Elders so they can provide comments, complaints or improvement suggestions on the way we do things

The list goes on,As a…

• Service Desk collating information on all our systems then integrated with confluence for a quick searchable knowledgebase

• Accreditation Database for audit tracking on our processes to report to government bodies

• Continuous improvement register tracking on the work that we do and how we are innovating and improving our services and care

And on….• Temperature monitoring and

logging from Kitchens

• Actually we are logging events into JIRA from about 10,000 different sources !!!!

And on…

• Monitoring pool temperatures and TV Signal strength

• Used for tracking hand held devices for point of care

• Tracking table device fleet for Community Care and our mobile phones

• We also use JIRA to monitor our status on Occupational Health and Safety Claims

What more ?…• Regular stuff like Project

management for our website and intranet portal development

• We are using JIRA with great success for Vendor collaboration and deployment on Systems

• Crowd as a federation type service for authentication on systems (BRILLIANT!)

• Also providing the backbone for the creation, collaboration and deployment of education material

To put it simply…• Atlassian products have changed the way we do things here at

Sundale - for the better !

• We are improving our processes and delivering care and services where it is needed.

• We have complete visibility in areas where we were blind

• Atlassian holds the #1 position within the ICT department for customer service, value for money and delivery on service (we currently have over 100 vendors within the ICT space)
