Auction Impact:Christmas Bureau of EdmontonThe simplest of Christmas traditions – eating together! Something many of us look forward to each year. However, for families like Carla’s, Christmas dinner would be just like any other day if it were not for support of the Christmas Bureau. “I wasn’t sure if I could have a traditional Christmas meal for my children. No one expects to fall on hard times, but it’s nice to know that if it ever happens, Edmonton has the Christmas Bureau to help.” Entering our 11th year of partnership with the ATCO Edmonton Sun Christmas Charity Auction, we are grateful that we can continue to provide the simplest of Christmas traditions – families in need eating a festive meal together!

United Way of the Alberta Capital RegionPoverty is one of society’s most complex problems. More than 120,000 people in the Alberta Capital Region live in poverty- 37,000 of them are children. But even complex problems have solutions. United Way and over 50 social service partners deliver more than 100 programs, covering urgent needs and long-term development. Your support creates lasting change in three focus areas: education, income and wellness. It’s time to move beyond managing the symptoms of poverty to focus on solutions to eliminate it. That’s what United Way does.

Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation“While I enjoy working at an organization that helps so many families when they need it most, what most people don’t know is my personal connection to the cause.  When I was a baby, doctors told my parents that my chances of surviving past my first Christmas were bleak.  Life was different then.  Doctors were hesitant to operate on my small head, but my parents didn’t give up.  They found a doctor who was willing to take a chance on a very risky procedure and, after two surgeries at four months old and two years old, I was able to fully recover.  You never know what kids can turn out to be; accountants or authors, rock stars or rocket scientists. We could not possibly support the talented people at the Stollery Children’s Hospital without you.  Funds raised through the ATCO Sun Christmas Charity Auction have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of our kids. Thank you for helping us realize the potential that exists in every child.”  - Mike House, President and CEO, Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation

Catholic Social Services Sign of HopeBy supporting Catholic Social Services (CSS) annual Sign of Hope Campaign, your gift is used to positively change the lives of individuals and families in need--

I can honestly say that if it had not been for the support, caring and expertise I received from Catholic Social Services, I would have had to resort to prostitution, and my child and I would be another forgettable statistic. (‘Shannon,’ a client of Safe House)

Even though I am not Catholic, Catholic Social Services provided my first home, my first school, and my first workplace in Canada. (‘Mohamed’, an Iranian refugee)

Please, give generously. Your financial support of the ATCO Sun Auction does make a difference to the thousands of people served by Catholic Social Services each year.
