The geospatial industry is constantly evolving. Currently, it is working to become a value-based solution-centric industry. Several partners, who were originally working as standalone players, are now exploring opportunities of integration, merging, and embedment. This is happening as a result of users needing multilayer modeling of information acquired from multiple web-based sources with almost real-time data, which both businesses and citizens can access through mobile platforms. This need for highly accurate, precise, and almost real-time information makes it necessary for those in the fields of technology, business, policy, and user domains to work together to provide this data. Today, the impacting industry workflows and seamless delivery of solutions encourages the widespread use of geospatial content, resulting
in a positive impact on the world economy and society.
In its mission to promote the ongoing convergence of innovation and integration of technology, Geospatial Media is hosting GeoBuiz 2015. GeoBuiz is a two-day conference on Technology Innovation, Business Trends and Directions, Industry Solutions, and Policies and Programs. This conference will be held in Bethesda, Maryland, from 10-11 August 2015. The conference will provide a common platform where leaders from policy making agencies, user organizations, technology companies, and academic institutions will be able to share, learn, deliberate, collaborate, and provide business and technology direction to the geospatial community of the United States.

OBJECTIVES
9th August, 2015 By invitation only
PRE-CONFERENCE
In less than a decade, geospatial industry has witnessed
significant technological advancements. With new methods
in data capture, faster and automated data processing,
more sophisticated integration tools and platforms, along
with raised user awareness and uptake of technology, the
geospatial industry has grown significantly. GNSS, aerial
photography, high resolution satellite imagery, GIS, LiDAR,
UAVs, and Big Data analytics are increasingly finding their
place in social development sectors such as water, health,
education, defense, as well as economy driving industries like
construction, electricity, mining, and real estate.
In the center of these technological breakthroughs are the
National Mapping Agencies (NMAs) that are responsible for
providing qualitative and integrated geospatial information
to citizens, businesses, and government through multiple
platforms. NMAs have a unique opportunity to benefit from
and contribute to this ongoing technological growth by actively
contributing to this growth. This initiative can be supported
with the forward looking vision and direction provided to them
by the political and administrative leadership. These leaders
create a framework that enables appropriate context and
direction to re-organize structure and human resources, as
well as re-orient their traditions to catch up with the current
trends and needs within the market.
The key objective of this workshop is to bring together
a number of NMA heads with industry leaders in order to
deliberate and collaborate on ways that each can contribute
to the technological trends in order to promote geospatial
data use. The strength of the NMAs will deeply affect how
their countries develop socially and economically in future
years, which will be influenced by how efficiently they are
able to work with the geospatial private industry.
