CRV Summer 2015 Inreach: Energy, Aerospace & Science Visits

For 30 years CRV initiated trips to science, aerospace and energy sites, by reaching into the facilities’ outreach coordinators. Bill Richards handles contacting, scheduling and funding. Sue Palen, a retired professional science teacher, identifies interested students and maintains the educational integrity.

The crvonline.org website provides participants and the public with pictures of trips and events.

Robotic students as young as six are a first in this age group for CRV. This class and included ages 6 up to 12.

Six years ago Josh S. was the above age. This spring his DeWitt High school robotics team qualified for international robotics competition.

Students tour the USS Destroyer Edson in Bay City

This opportunity was not on the schedule. It presented an option. The students elected to do the tour. With the use of cell phones we were able to warn parents of a change in return time !
